OKay, as of the latest reports.... The Haymen fire has consumed well over 76,000 acres by itself. They are hoping to get some control of it within the next 24 hours. This is the largest and most destructive forest fire in the history of the state of Colorado. So please keep your prayers going for rain, we can use all that we can get.

Here's a hymn of prayer, re-worded for firefighters and homeowners:
Eternal Father, strong to save,
Whose arm protects from birth to grave.
Who's mighty forests and their trees,
set humble mankind on its knees.
Oh, send your angels, sight unseen,
To those who keep them safe and green.
O Christ! Whose voice the waters heard
And sent them raining at Thy Word,
Who walked on the foaming deep,
And calm amidst its rage didst sleep;
Oh, hear us when we pray for rain,
For those who toil on in vain!
Most Holy Spirit! Who didst brood
Upon the chaos dark and rude,
And bid its raging fires cease,
And give, for wild confusion, peace;
Oh, hear us when we pray to you,
Protect our homes and loved ones too!
O Trinity of love and power!
Our family shield in danger’s hour;
From rock and tempest, fire and foe,
Protect us wheresoever we go;
Thus evermore shall rise to Thee
Glad hymns of praise from land and sea.

Wel the two that have been the wirst have not relented. The Hayman ires is now up around 85,000 acres and the wind has turned it back on itself as of alst report. Still going though. And the Cold seem fire in Glenwood Springs is at 10,200 acres now and about 5% containtment. My prayers are out to the firefighters and to especially M45. I hope that he is safe.

My prayers go out to you all and all of those who are in danger. Rain will come soon because with these many prayers going up some kind of blessing will come down.

My dear Sarriah,
I’m sorry I only now found this thread, but I have been aware of your situation as my 82 year old mother lives in Denver and told me Sunday night she had to turn her AC off because of the smoke that was being sucked inside. My son in-law is a firefighter as was a close uncle. Fire is both known and understood here.
My inner thoughts are with you as I, along with legend and scorpi42 “pray” (or by whatever name you give it) do send “SPECIAL” emotions to you.

NOW my friends!
As has been stated, there seems to be some VERY sick and dangerous members of our species both in Colorado and Canada that have been “seen” starting fires. If this is an UNQUESTIONABLE fact, do we have a responsibility we would prefer to defer?
I am not seeking any response, only giving food for thought (the quality that is suppose to set us apart from other species).
If a rattle snake were laying eggs in the closet of a loved one, should I only brake the eggs or should I seek out the laying snake and end the danger for what has meaning to me in this life?
Please understand that it is not with youthful ignorance or haste that I even consider action against my own kind. Do we not do worst because of a philosophical, duty, or even just the difference in a uniform?
The true magnitude of the destruction and negative effects from these fires are beyond our conscious comprehension.
Dealing with only what I do know, do feel are my responsibilities of stewardship, and the FACTS before me, I know that a 30.06 will reach as far as I can clearly see.
