I haven't been into a theatre for 15 years but as the fog clears I seem to remember going to see Crocodile Dundee II one tuesday afternoon cos I was bored and it was half price day.
As for home ,I don't buy , I rent 5 at a time then copy them to disc if I like them.

I knew there was a thread around here someplace about the most recent movies people have seen.
For me I believe the last movie I saw in the theater was Blades of Glory.
Not sure what the last one is that I bought for at home but the most recent I've received for Netflix was The Reaping, which I watched two nights ago and Mr. Woodcock which is on tap for tonight.
I watched Seven again this afternoon on TV. Love that movie.
