I wish I had some magical words to calm your fears and soothe your anxiety...but I don't. The best I can do is tell you I know how you are feeling because I've been there. Talk to her often Shar! Hold her and tell her you love her as soon as you can! And never lose hope! There is always hope...till there is no hope!

Mom's are pretty good about fighting back. It never ceases to amaze me how strong women can be. Even when they seem at their weakest there is that inner strength that they call upon and somehow overcome the mightiest odds.

Hang in there Shar! Be strong when you can and lean on us when you feel a bit weak!

An Update:

Mum has been put back into hospital, the result came back from the scan. The cancer has not shrunk at all, despite the 2 treatments she has had . It also hasn't got any larger, which i spose is a sorta blessing! Mum is depressed, crying etc. She is tired, clothes falling off her, and well looks bad!

They are going to do a biopsy on the tumor either today or tomorrow. They need to know if the one in her tummy is actually lymphoma or if its a new batch of breast cancer (she lost a breast over 24 yrs ago to it, and it came back in her spine more recently)

*sigh* I floating around lost, hard to explain, i want to go now, but restrictions and responsibilities make that impossible, so for now i have to make do with phonecalls, and to be honest, its tearing me up.

I have news, and unfortunately it is not good

I finally got a hold of Dad today. The treatment is not working at all and there is nothing more they can do for her, only manage pain etc.

Mum & Dad have an appointment with the Doc this afternoon, i assume they will discuss further time left and assistance/care. Dad will ring me when he gets home after the appointment and fill me in. The Doc has told her he will be sending her home so that she can do stuff she wants to do, no good continuing the treatment that is taking any quality of life, she needs to enjoy what time she has left.

I knew in my heart it was not going well, and yeah, its not. I can't describe how i feel, verge of tears i spose, numb, lost, i dunno really.

My best advice is to call her, write her, see her...enjoy the time you have left. Life is short, but sometimes it's a blessing to be able to say goodbye. Try not to leave anything left unsaid.
