transistions: Dick Clark
V
Dick Clark, the music industry maverick, longtime TV host and powerhouse producer who changed the way we listened to pop music with "American Bandstand," and whose trademark "Rockin' Eve" became a fixture of New Year's celebrations, died today at the age of 82.
Clark's agent Paul Shefrin said in statement that the veteran host died this morning following a "massive heart attack."
I believe this loss of a great personality bothers me more than any others that have made the news in the past few years. RIP to America's Oldest Teenager!

We occasionally had Specials this side of the Pacific which Dick hosted. He was a familiar face and voice, like Wolfman Jack.
He made an impression on several generations.

Most all of us have a point in life that Dick Clark became the icon for.

Although I knew better, I guess I never really thought he'd go.

I remember American Bandstand and all those years he "rang in" the New Year. He will definitely be missed.
RIP Dick Clark!

Twitter post of the year: "Dick Clark is gone, so we will no longer be able to ring in the New Year. Well played, Mayans, well played."
