transistions: Dick Clark
V
Dick Clark, the music industry maverick, longtime TV host and powerhouse producer who changed the way we listened to pop music with "American Bandstand," and whose trademark "Rockin' Eve" became a fixture of New Year's celebrations, died today at the age of 82. Clark's agent Paul Shefrin said in statement that the veteran host died this morning following a "massive heart attack." I believe this loss of a great personality bothers me more than any others that have made the news in the past few years. RIP to America's Oldest Teenager! |
We occasionally had Specials this side of the Pacific which Dick hosted. He was a familiar face and voice, like Wolfman Jack.
He made an impression on several generations. |

an amazing man for sure

Although I knew better, I guess I never really thought he'd go. :(

Denial is more than just an African river. LOL.

I remember American Bandstand and all those years he "rang in" the New Year. He will definitely be missed.
RIP Dick Clark! |
Twitter post of the year: "Dick Clark is gone, so we will no longer be able to ring in the New Year. Well played, Mayans, well played."
