Strange Bird
There is a strange bird in the skies over Darwin.
For you fellow aerosexuals (folks who get off on planes), it's called PROTEUS and it's here for a huge weather study.
Google "tropical warm pool" for more details.
Strange bird indeed, a cousin to WHITE KNIGHT which took SpaceShip1 up.

VERY interesting!
Sounds like you are going to have a LOT of strange birds and critters at that meeting.
(just a wispy thought)

Fly up above an 8 mile high thunderhead called "Hector" and take measurements.

PF
There's an ex-East German spy plane, an old Dornier turboprop and promise of NASAs WB-57
Atmospheric Research plane.
There was talk of the ER2 (old U-2) platform here too, but I think it's wishful thinking.
