Yes, I wish I had had a multimeter. I finally got my cord checked yesterday and found out that the cord is right fine, it's actually the piece where you plug in the cord that's fucked.

The piece, by the way, is connected to the main board of my laptop.

Which Acer, by the way, very kindly informed me would cost me 499$ to replace through them.

Which would cost me at least 180$ just for the piece + labour to get it fixed locally.

Soooo I confess that I don't really think it's worth paying that much to fix a 2 year old laptop and I am now looking for a new one.

(A person can live on watery soup and bread crusts, right?) :tear:
