Common??
I have a question about something that I have never heard of!
I was reading;a recent thread;and was very suprised at the # of
people that have a fear of clowns.I have associated with a great
variety of people and have never heard this discussed before.
Among all of the people;I never heard;my kids or any of their friends;talk of this.Has anyone else heard of this?I think that the
only time that I heard it mentioned before;was on a previous
thread here at pixies. Irish
P.S.I am 58 and have never heard it mentioned!

This may have started after it was discovered that John Wayne Gacy was a clown at children's parties and then a serial rapist and murderer.
Who knows?

I have heard this before as well. They were actually talking about it on the radio the other day and tons of people called in saying they were afraid of clowns.

I JUST KNEW there was something wrong with the clowns when I went to the circus back when I was 5... :whiteghos
I've also read stuff since about JW Gacy and the whole clown fear relating to that, but while I don't have an actual phobia of them, I definitely think of all the possibilities of evil lurking underneath that painted face...one of the ultimate disguises.

Cannibal’s wont eat them because they taste funny!
Heath Lilith, You could bring your class here to Pixies for therapy. Maybe you can get Lorelei to psychoanalysis some of us?

I was afraid of clowns as a child. I still don't like them. I never knew what it was about, what caused it, or that others felt the same way though. I just attributed it to being shy.
