Just wondering if anyone has had the pleasure(wink) of meeting someone by using the personals dating sites and if you did try this......tell us about what happened!!!
Either the worst or the best........

My worst..... getting hooked up with a man who was a widower. The only real problem I had with this is that after seeing him 5 or 6 times........I found out his wife was alive and well! lol

The best was a man I met not through a dating site but via ICQ from Utah........had a long distance relationship for a few years until he passed. He was a keeper!

I have met a few guys from online.. none of them thru a personals service.. for the most part... I have met them as a result of my stories.

Of the few I have met... 2 of them made long lasting impressions on my life.. and in my heart.

One.. lets call him Roger... ROFL.. actually that is his name.. He lived on the west coast (Northern Virginia to be exact). He sent me an e-mail after reading my stories. I responded and that began what was at first a friendship that quickly developed into something much more. We began corresponding early April of 2000 and he flew out to spend a week with me in August. It was completely wonderful... after that week.. or relationship continued to grow.. endless hours on the phone.. too many emails to remember.. I flew to Virginia in October 2000... spent a week.. met his family.. friends.. returned home.. the relationship continued.. progressing to the point where WE had decided I would relocate after the following may when I was to graduate from College. Made plans to find a job.. relocate my son.. get a place of my own... he flew out here for Christmas (even paid for my bro to fly out from California to surprise my mom).. everything was wonderful... I loved him... I bought tickets to spend Spring break out there looking for a job... then on January 21st (one week after moving back in with my folks to save money during my last semester for my move)... Roger called me.. told me that he didn't love me afterall.. that I actually reminded him of his ex wife.. and that he wanted to be "friends". Yep.. "Friends". Funny.. I heard from him once since then.. no explanation.. no nothing... the end. Needless to say.. my world spun around.. two weeks after that call.. I went out drinking.. 14 shots of tequilla.. 4 amaretto sours... 2 margaritas later... LOL.. My last semester of college was the most deficult time of my life.. had to restructure my life.. my goals were taken away.. and I had to begin from scratch.. with myself..

The second one.. well that is a more postive meeting. I met Lee (from OK) online as a result of my stories as well... several months before I met Roger. After several months of talking.. we decided to meet for the first time.. in this wonderfully quaint place in Arkansas called Eureka Springs. I drove the hour there... got there early.. and spent my time anxiously waiting. When he arrived.. he was exactly as I imagined in my head... he greeted me with a hug.. and the night got better from there. He had rented a nice room at a Bed & Breakfast... he took me a beautiful romantic restaurant.. followed by a carriage ride on the cobble roads in the moonlight.. afterwards we went to the shops.. walked around a little bit before finally ending up in the local jazz club... stayed there for a bit.. danced.. held hands.. had his arm around me.. then we walked (up hills from hell I might add) back to the bed & breakfast... were we shared some very intimate moments.. the best that I have ever experienced in my lifetime thus far.

As if.. my life wanted to bring me back to reality.. I woke the next morning with Kidney stones.. ROFL.. just my luck. I have seen him twice since then.. altho I consider him one of my dearest lifelong friends.. his life now includes a wonderful lady with whom he now lives. Because of this.. we don't talk much anymore... but I credit him with helping me open myself to the possibilities..

The moral to my stories.. life is a risk... love is a risk... but nothing worth having in this life comes without any. If you choose to meet someone online.. do so only when you feel comfortable.. and make it so that the initial meeting is in a public place..

Will I meet anyone again on line? Not sure.. part of me would like to.. while other parts of me aren't yet ready for that risk.. we shall see... only time will tell

Have met serval people from chatting online, ,though not any of them through a dating service. All my meetings were enjoyable and I am still friends with most of them. In fact I meet my current s/o online. His brother in law introduced us because I was having computer troubles. We have been together for almost 4 years now.

Proud to say that I met my current partner via the classifieds some 4 years ago (I placed the ad). She flew half way round the globe to meet me and we had a great 20 day holiday in the Malaysian jungle. I then flew the other half of the globe to meet her family, (mother, daughter, son) and ended up staying. We have travelled as a group ever since and I can say its been and still is great.

That said, I recommend anyone that is going to meet an online chat or via a classifieds ad person, then spend time emailing each other, chat on the phone, exchange pics and then meet up. I know of a few women and men that have met this way and have had mixed results, but all agreed that neutral ground was the most appropriate to meet for the first time, it avoided a possible unpleasant situation.

I've had SEVERAL men I've met online either by personals or in chat...I'll tell ya a little about each of them:

The first man I met by checking my sister's personal ad for her one night after she had met the man of her dreams and I was replying back to all of her noters that she was now unavailable. One of the men struck me as special. He had written this wonderful erotic story and I asked if maybe he would like to write with me sometimes. We began to chat, and then talk on the phone, and then we finally met. He was wonderful. Romantic, funny, spontaneous, and married. We had an affair for about 2 years before I finally couldn't take it anymore and offered him an ultimatum...he picked his wife....go figure.

The second I met in a chat room. He was in the state on business. I met him at his hotel and he gave me the most amazing hardcore, kinky, wild sex I've ever had. The third was the BIGGEST mistake of my LIFE! The last was the charm. Funny, romantic, we had everything in common, he WASN'T married, and he lived in the next county. I married him 4 months after we met and we've been together ever since.

I have been at Pixies for several months now and I have met many people I would love to party with here! I visit other communities online but I really love the people at Pixies. Recently, although I am married, I met someone that has piqued my interest immensely! Yes he is a Pixie member! Stranger things have happened, but we have never met face to face to date. We have talked in chat here and on messenger and he has called me via the telephone.......old fashioned I know, but oh so romantic! An ocean parts us but......ocean be damned........I am buying a plane!
