The 5 senses
As we all know, sex involves much more than just the joining of two bodies. It is a sensory experience. Basic science tells us that there are 5 senses which guide us through life. Sight, Hearing, Touch, Taste, & Smell. Each one plays an important role in sex, and the overall enjoyment of it.
So, this is my question for you. Of the 5 senses, which one is most valuable to you sexually? If you had to lose one, which would it be?

I go pretty much with Rabbit for a start, although smell is so intertwined with taste, hearing could be a reasonable candidate to temporarily forego.

For me, most valuable is sound. It turns me on to hear the sounds of pleasure escape my partners lips. A very close second is touch. To feel skin touching mine *swoon*
The least, smell. It can be wonderful but compared to the other 4, I could live without it.

touch and sound are so close for me. Sound is such a turn on for me. Moaning, breathing, that hitch in in the voice or breath....mmmmm.
I could give up smell I think.

Lets see the sight of the curve of her hips and the rise and fall of the breasts,hmmmm?
The sound of the soft moans of a beginning orgasm, hmmm.?
The touch of skin on skin or a taunt nipple, hmmmmm?
the taste of her as I run my tongue up and down her body, Hmmmm?
Yep lets give up smell!

Sight, how could I witness your indescribable beauty without seeing you to develop my terms to attempt the descriptor;
Hearing, I must hear your quietness and your more audible exclamations in our time of lovemaking foreplay, the engaging of our bodys and the exhausted time of repose;
Touch, without it "No Boner;"
Taste, our kisses, vaginal juice and sperm apart and mixed, so important, vital and imperative;
Smell, probably 2nd most important in human sensory input. Can't do without.
You choose for me. I cannot volunteer lest I be senseless.

Definitely touch. Hearing is a close second. But there's little point of sex to me without lots of physical contact.

Considering that my astham/allergies destroyed my sense of smell long ago, that's an easy one to answer.

Touch is definitely top of the list for lovemaking, and I guess sound comes next, with taste and smell battling it out for equal third place.
I'm happy to make love with my eyes shut, so...

For me,
Most valuable: touch and sound
Least valuable: sight - I think without "sight" all the other senses would be on high alert and so much more intense.
I'm noticing a trend in that touch seems to be predominately the numero uno choice among most respondents with the exception of sight. Do you suppose that is because sex and sensuality is a tactile sport? Or perhaps it's because our skin covers our bodies and is loaded with sensory receptors that get all active and tingly when we start pushing each others sexual/sensual buttons?
I also can't help but wonder what happens to our sense of taste when the choice of smell is cast by the wayside.

Salacious, I think you have brought up an interesting point. I have heard of studies that show that the absence of a particular sense causes the others to highten to some degree.
If I were willing to give up smell, I wonder if I would taste things to a different level (sweeter, spicer, saltier, etc). If I lost my sight, would my sense of touch and hearing be enhanced?
If that were the case, my choice would still be to give up smell in hopes that my taste ability would go into overdrive!

I'd be inclined to agree with this. After all, how often do we make love in the dark, blindfolded etc... Removing sight is something we do anyway, to heighten the sexual experience, so its loss during sex would not be that great, quite the contrary, in fact.
I was initially going to choose to lose smell, but still having the scent of my own cum on me from a few hours ago, and knowing how it's making me feel, I'll go with losing sight if I had to choose.

Taste is the most valuable to me. Couldn't do without it.
Losing smell wouldn't bother me too much.
