Aye carambola!!!
My sexy chef stocked up my fridge with 10 carambolas (starfruits). What on earth to do with them all???
Pickles or relish? Breads? Pies? And please, feel free to give me any other suggestions you may have along with any yummy recipes you may know. (Note that these carambolas are quite ripe!!!)

They are gorgeous in fruit salad. I also make a fruit dip with sour cream and brown sugar to dip them in.

Not really a recipe but I'm thinking as a topping for a burger or grilled chicken sandwich. A little bit of pineapple, a little of the star fruit........ sounds tasty to me.

Lil, great idea but these are so ripe that they have brown spots on their skin... That's why I'm looking for something to destroy them and not something to show them off in.
IowaMan, yes! That's why I am considering a relish.
Update : 5 of them are now in a bread in my oven. I'll let you know if it's good

They are nice eaten raw and cold. You cut off the tips of the "star", cut in at the base of the arms so you end up with five segments. You may find small seeds like orange seeds.
They can be eaten right up till (and when) the flesh goes translucent.
