Agree? disagree? Anything missing from the list?

Not really big into Sci-Fi but one that I would consider to be a major omission would be Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Maybe it's not really considered Sci-Fi, I'm not sure but all I know is that Joss Whedon is incredible and well, the Buffy series was some really, really great stuff. I mean come on, who couldn't just absolutely love Spike?

Hmmm, I'll have to go back and check again, was "Independence Day" on the list?

The list also reminded me of a movie that I thought was so incredibly overblown.

Firefly should be higher than 15. Easily the best Sci-fi tv series of all time. OK maybe second if you count X-Files as sci-fi. I'm actually starting to get annoyed at my dad since he hasn't returned my DVDs yet. I love the "reality" of this series with different parts of civilization backing up technology to fit what they can easily produce on the back world planet of the universe. The dialog given to Nathan Fillion through out the series is amazing. I've got the first series book with the scripts and character profiles. If you can't tell I'm a fan

They have the new Battlestar Galactica at number two? It's good, nice and dark, with political undertones. Unfortunately I rarely get to watch it. When we get a DVR in June that will change.

Blade Runner is an awesome movie. Noir cop film set in the future with questions about one man's reality. It's a deep deep movie. The book has the better title though, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep has always struck me as one of the best title for a book ever. It so nicely matches the story and it's true meaning.

X-Files at number at number four is not hard to swallow. Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose is probably my single favorite episode of any TV show ever. Though for best X-Files episode ever (stand alone) Eve 6 comes in pretty close.

I loved the first Matrix movie. The other two were simply passable.

See #20...this is a list of the last 25 years, which leaves out the original Star Wars (not to mention The Empire Strikes Back)

Waitaminnit, Star Wars is over 25 years old?!?

WTF!!!?
Where is Dune?
Where is Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy?---the BBC mini-6 Episodes
Where is Red Dwarf?

And the Matrix as number one? Please the effects were cool, but the after the qst film the stroy quickly died. the Acting was terrible. The TV show "The Great Space Coaster" was ten times better than the matrix. EW missed mark.

For christs sake the guy from Bill and Ted's excellent adventure is number one with the matrix. BTw which was a better movie that the matrix.

Hey EW Heres a number one movie for all your meg ryan fans. "Proof of Life"
and btW ya doucebags.

I agree with some, not all.

Codasteel's right about Red Dwarf and Hitchhiker.

I didn't get through them all ... too slow ... or maybe that was just me ...

was "Invader Zim" in there.

(I certainly agree that Hitchhiker and Dune should be there.)

Yup I agree - hitch-hikers, red dwarf and even dune (though the book is much much better than the film) should all be in there. Has got some right, but got more wrong.

Mostly what Jude30 said. Though I disagree about x-files. Dune was a crapola series of books. Red Dwarf? No thank you.

The first book of Dune is one of my favorite sci-fi books of all time. I've probably read it 10 times. The rest of the books I can't get into and I didn't see the Sci-Fi Channel's mini-series. The movie was passable.

Since the list is from the past 25 years that leaves out the Hitchhikers series.

And yeh, I've not gone for the other Dune books, so they don't spoil my opinion of the original one. I still fell asleep during the movie though.

I cannot believe that "Starship Troopers" is even in there. And...where the heck is "The Dresden Files"? Egads! Does anyone remember an older, slightly hokey movie, with bad acting, called "The Keep"? "Battlestar Galactica"?

it's only from the last 25 years Mae, and Dresden is probably too new, though they did include Heroes. I can't argue with Heroes though since it's my favorite show on TV right now.

For what is was Starship Troopers wasn't a bad movie. Just ignore the fact that there was a book by the same name.
