What were they thinking???
There is a show that I watch that covers the NFL and in a weekly segment that covers stupid decisions, plays, or things that players do in the course of a game, that is called What were they thinking.
I know that I'm a little late to the American Idol thing, but what in the HELL were some of the contestants thinking. Let's face it if you are going to be on a TV show, you have to have either Talent OR Looks, but on Idol, both is a requirement-admitted or inferred.
So tell me, what were they thinking?

1nutworld,
A good question. I saw some of the contestants while I was cooling my heels this last weekend, and you have to wonder.

I'll readily admit, I watched, not to find out who the GOOD ones were, but to watch the rejects, and find out what good stuff Simon would come up with.
But HOLY COW there were some people that had no business leaving their houses to audition.

We caught the new Nashville Star last week and now I'm kind of wanting to watch it because they have a brother and sister on it.

I have to be honest...I've given up singing in the shower for fear of having Simon whip open the shower curtain & holler at me.

Most of them beleave they can real sing. They are give false hope by freinds and family some are just delusional. I'm sure some know they aren't that good but hey why not try at least to get on TV(15 minutes of fame and all).
Some of the one you see on TV may never make it to see SPR(Simon, Paula and Randy) but are just edited to look that way. If you noticed it always seem like a lot of them sign the same song. This is because there isn't just one adudition but three (where they claim to weed out the worse singer) only people who make it to the last on are in front of SPR. The second adudition everyone is required to sing the same song (called the city song) in each city. This is one of the reasons you see people stumble over the words of the songs. Some are even encouraged buy the producers to give them false hopes.
