lactation + wtf 2 me
Ok, I dunno about the rest of you but the thought of lactation is a real turn on for me. But I thought women only lactate when and shortly after they're prenant. I'm pretty sure that's not true. what causes it, when does it happen, is it a one in a few type thing like squirting, just wtf is up with lactation. Sorry to sound like a guy.

There have been cases where a man has lactated. It may not have had all the benefits of a nursing mother's breast milk, but the human body is made up of elements that are basically the same, just in different proportions from male to female. Men have estrogen...albeit, in a lesser amount than a woman. Woman have testosterone, and again it is in a lesser amount than a man. There have been documented extreme cases where a man has expressed sustinance for a hungry child.
Anyway...in most cases, if you are not a woman, or you are a woman and you are not pregnant or post partum...you shouldn't be lactating. If you are, or if anything is leaking from your nipples, you should seek medical attention immediately!

well i can tell you that you are not the only guy out there that likes lactating women, an ex had a porno of a woman squirting milk as she climaxed.
As a mom, who breastfed her babies, it was as much of a turn on as sitting down to a meal with the family. I was feeding my kids as nature intended.
Lixy had a great explaination (Good job Lix)and YES men have breastfed babies before . and adpotive mothers have too, it just takes A LOT of nipple stimulation and the right mix of herbs and hormones.
to further the "squirting" answer, it can be caused either by the mother hand expressing milk, or pumping with a breast pump, into a bottle, for the baby to drink if the mother has to be away (such as work) and cannot feed directly.
OR
I think this is more of what you were thinking as a sexual nature. Pregnant, post-partum, or breastfeeding mothers can leak or "squirt" milk upon sexual climax. this is due in part to a hormone called Oxytocin. It is released at sexual climax to cause uterine contractions, or to start and keep a woman in labor, and also when a mother is breastfeeding her baby and the milk "lets down" or starts flowing easier out of the breast into the baby's mouth as the baby sucks at the nipple and areola. So because of the oxytocin release at climax, it also triggers the let down reflex and the milk can be forcefully ejected, or squirted.
I am a big breastfeeding geek and advocate, any more questions, feel free to ask!

Wanderingsoul, the thing I think that might be confusing you is that women's breasts will produce milk after pregnancy for as long as it is being consumed. A woman could conceivably continue to use a breast pump after weaning her baby which would make the production of milk continue.
In years gone by, wet nurses were employed to breast feed other women's babies, since milk production can go on for years after childbirth as long as it is being expressed somehow from the breast on a regular basis.
