eliza...
I would suggest going to the carvnival.com website... they do have a employment section of the site as I recall...
I highly recommend taking the steps to make it happen... you are young... it would be a great way to see the world

eliza261 not sure if working within the cruise industry is all it seem I've know a couple of people who have they saw the money is good but if you're lookin for a fun job you might want to look somewhere else.
From what I under stand you work 12 hour day 7 days a week for 6 weeks then have a week off. On you off time you are limited to where you can be on the ship. Mostly the lower decks where there aren't any guest.
P.S. I'm no trying to tell you not to do it just you were asking for info and I thought I would warn you

I recently returned from a cruise, and talked to several of the workers there, every one of them really loved it. They did say the best jobs to have were the ones where you get to interact with the passengers.
The cruise companies have links on their web pages for jobs.

I think working for a cruise would be nice, free travel, blue skies, blue water... It'd be nice.
However, if you want a job, I'll let you babysit my 3 kids

I don't know about other places, but coming up soon on the college campus my husband works at, they start sponsering 'seminars' for large companies (such as Walt Disney World, summer camps, cruise lines, etc) to come in, talk about thier business, and their student job offerings.
Check with your campus events if they do anything like that. You likely stand a btter chance getting a fun job that way, than on your own.

Good luck eliza261. Hope you find exactly what you're hoping for. Except ... that they double the pay and give you more time for fun.

I often have seen cruise jobs advertised in the paper.
An old friend was the music director on a ship for several years and loved it. I'll try to dig up his e-mail address.
