Weather channel is showing us locally at -8. Windchill ... -19.
I think I'm going to cancel my plans for a picnic and swim at the beach. Darn hard water.

Puter says it's 17F here db (9F windchill)! I do believe I have to get another saying other than...."Colder than a brass commode on the shady side of an iceberg"....cause that commode is looking pretty toasty at the moment!
*looks through catalog for bun warmers*

That's nothing DB!!!
We have had MUCH colder temps here for two straight weeks now!!
-37°C with a windshield of -45°C+ went as high as -52 one morning!
So in Fahrenheit, it would be -36.6° with a windsheild of -49°
So -8° is not that cold now is it???? LOL

Strange thing is we could use the same numbers Diva, but they'd have a + in front of them

I'm in the same province as Diva and am not impressed with those numbers, jseal!
DB, I think there'd be a bit of shrinkage if you went in the water today!

Apparently the folks in Buffalo are getting some good news from all the cold, parts of lake Erie have started to freeze and that means a vast reduction in the potential for lake effect snow for them.

I was told by the locals (the reason they even published the Farmer's Almanac.....as far as they are concerned)....that when you see so many spider webs in your gardens in late summer and fall......the winter will be a pip!
I was so amazed at the spiders/webs I saw this fall.....I even took pics and posted them.
BTW.....it is 10° at the moment....and still going down tonight. The wind chill is about -2°! I'm hoping for a heat wave of 25-30 tomorrow! *crosses fingers*
Here's a few signs that we were doomed before we even knew it!

And so.....I named him! What of it?
Wish he had of told me of his secret.........that he knew this winter would be colder than recent recorded ones!
