New Message Notification
OK, I've been a member of Pixies for 5 days now and I'm bloody enjoying it! But one thing I've noticed compared to other forums, is that when you're viewing a topic, there is no sign of anything to tell you that you have a new private message. Would it be possible to introduce this? I have to keep going back to the main login page to check my messages.
Also, could someone set me straight on who's the Admin and Moderator(s) of this forum please?

Dunno if it makes a difference being on broadband (course, if YOU are, this is kinda redundant!) but I get notified if a new message arrives while I'm perving..... I mean, browsing!! (I THINK) Other than that, no ideas!
Re the Mods...... THIS Forum is modded by dicksbro & Lilith..... it tells you who the Mods for each Forum are if you go to the "main" page of each one (top left, underneath the forum title!!)
Hope this helps at least ONE of your queries!!

Hi ukG,
Go to: "User Control Panel"
Then to: "Edit options"
There are places in there you can check off if you want to be notified of a post to your thread or of PMs.

Further to Sharni's post - you also have to have Javascript enabled.

I have pop-up killer so I do get a notification that I have a new PM but have to go to User CP stuff myself. I also just go to my Yahoo mail and click on the notification e-mail.

if you've got a pop-up killer ... if you hold the control button when you click ok on the message notification it'll bring up your inbox .... probably. I know for most pop-up blockers i've come into contact with holding the control buttion works if you want to disable the blocker for just that one time.

Would you believe, I have to get by on a 56K modem - the small village in which I live in has 56K as the highest, whereas towns with Internet Cafés 4 miles away have broadband connections. I'm used to it being shit 'n' slow.

There's a secret behind this. I got my username from this channel. It was originally called UK Gold 2 but recently changed.
Creating it was easy. I had to go into Microsoft Word, click on Insert menu and select Symbol and then choose the small Č from the list. A bit of cutting and pasting, hey presto!
I would like to get the "uk" part raised and put in capitals, but can't find a way, so that just the G is a normal sitting character.
