Good & Bad News!

Most of the senior members, have been telling me,that I should
use BBC as a news source.I haven't been able to,because our
carrier(Cable Co.)didn't carry it.The town picks a cable co. & signs
a contract with it.One of my sons-in-laws,works for a competing
co. & I would choose that.If you live in a particular town,you don't
have a choice!FYI,I got a notice, from my cable co.The good news is that after Jan 1st,they will be adding stations. One of them is BBC.The bad news is that our rates are going up.My wife is happy,
because they are going to add,CMT & she is a HUGE country fan!

P.S.We have Metrocast. My S-I-L works for Comcast. It started out as Continental, was bought out by ATT,and now is Comcast!

Yeah... happy for your good news.
Awww... sad there's bad news.

It seems that good news & bad news always travel together.
Wouldn't it be nice to just get the good stuff once in awhile.

teddy
ps: Enjoy your new stations.

Irish,

I hope you enjoy the BBC as much as I do. Sound reporting without the American point of view. Nothing is perfect, I grant you, but I find their news broadcasts contain more substance than those of some of the American broadcasters.

The continuing consolidation of the American broadcast media is, I think, a dangerous development. I get the feeling that the "communications corporations" view news broadcasts more as a type of entertainment than as a source of information. What gives them the best ROI is not necessarily best for the rest of us.

I agree about the BBC, I watch it on Dish Network. It gives you a more world view. American news is usually so focused on whats up here in the US and to blazes with the rest.

Hope ya like it!
