Bush has a history of being able to raise lots of money and then not be able to manage a business. The same thing has happened with his Presidency. The country has the largest national deficit ever, yet Bush has set a new record for the most money raised for political campaigning.

I'm gonna use this list... I think I'll start with renting a Martin Sheen flick....

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Just because certain "celebs" dont agree with the man that is President of our country doesnt mean we should send their comments to everyone under the sun like gossip. Celebs are people just as we are. What about when Clinton was in office? Imagine the comments that were said then from all kinds of people. People will always talk.. whats new?

Irish,

Don't sweat the small stuff...

...and that's 113 lines of small stuff.

Many people didn't like Clinton, many people don't like Bush. Don't be influenced by the Hollywood names. They're that same names that also failed to prevent the recall of their Govenor.

Considering the current state of this stupid war, I agree that these people are the real heros.

I will respectfully counter Irish's post with the following letter from NRA Blacklist:

Quote:
Dear Member of the NRA's Blacklist:

I bring you nothing but good news.

With your help, simply by forwarding www.nrablacklist.com to your friends, we have accomplished so much. What we need now is for you to keep passing the NRA blacklist along to everyone you know. If you do, we will succeed. Here is why:

1) 25,000 Americans have joined the NRA's blacklist in just two weeks. Our initial goal was 10,000. Then we asked for 25,000; today we are raising that goal to 50,000. The NRA may have the backing of the gun industry, but we have the people. All we need to do is get people who care to speak up and join the blacklist. We will deliver our petition to Congress and insist that we be heard. That's how it works.

2) The media buzz is growing. News articles and columns are appearing across the country. Wayne LaPierre, the Executive Director of the NRA, not only admitted that the NRA has a blacklist but said on the "Today" Show what he hoped to achieve with the list: "Our members don't want to buy their songs, don't want to go to their movies and don't want to support their careers." What arrogance. Is he for real? We wonder: How does he intend to punish the doctors, children, mayors, seniors and others who are on the list?

3) Our advertising campaign is expanding. Today, we have a full page ad in the New York Times and yesterday we were in Variety, urging readers to sign up for the NRA's blacklist. The ads are working and helping us to raise money and visibility.

We will not stop until we stop the NRA. It is out of control.

The NRA wants to put illegal assault weapons back on the street.

The NRA wants immunity for reckless gun dealers like Bull's Eye Shooter Supply, which armed the DC snipers and sold guns used in 52 other crimes.

Right now, we need to send the NRA a message and have thousands more join its blacklist. Please click here to share this e-mail with your friends and family and coworkers. The 60 seconds it will take will make a huge difference.

All the best,

The NRA Blacklist

I'm confused.

Is there some question about the right of people to have

differing opinions?

Oldfart,

I’d like to think not. That being said, one of the more unsatisfying aspects of contemporary democratic politics is the tendency of people to demonizing their opponents. That coarsening of the political discourse makes it, in my opinion, more difficult to address the large number of very real and very difficult issues with which humanity must come to grips.

Alas, America seems to be in the vanguard here. Then again, Americans are not known for their self-restraint.

I have a few words for those that made this list...and they are not pleasant.

Yet for our current president I am very concerned for the future. I have been following closely what has been happening. Of late that has troubled my mind has been the consideration of developing Nuke bunker buster bombs and the possibility of nuclear testing. What causes me to fear is the acceptance that a "nuke" could be considered a battle field weapon. How soon would a "nuke" intended for deep earth penitration be considered for above ground us to destroy mobile formations?

The cancellation of the ABM treaty is another cause for concern and the insistant developement of "Star Wars" missile defense. Why would some third world power spend billions on developing the damn things and then many hundreds of millions more on a delivery vehical. It would make more sence for these countries to smuggle the things in to their targets and all the Darth Vaders atop orbiting Death Stars wouldn't matter for all the costs involved.

But of the current Iraq conflict--it was a fools trip made by the King of Fools. The military planning was near perfect--but the peace winning aspect leaves much to be desired. Sadly we have lost creditability with our own allies. In the future if a real threat comes along, just how supportive might they be to deal with a real threat? Now with North Korea we have but to hope that China of all countries will have to come to our aid top resolve this issue--anyone remember that little spy plane of ours that found its way on that Chinese island?

Granted many of these people mentioned in this list are flakes to be sure, but nevertheless had G. W. Bush listened to a few others outside his own inner circle our armed forces wouldn't be used for target practise this day.

All I can say is thank God I have no son--but as I sit here I weep in my soul for those whose sons live this nighmare now.
