Contrary to what anyone may think after I posted complaining about the over abundance of Holiday music on the radio, I actually DO have a few favorite Christmas songs.
My very favorite Christmas carols are:
Angel We Have Heard On High
Oh Holy Night
Adeste Fidelis (O Come All Ye Faithful) - (IN LATIN!)
We Three Kings of Orient Are
It matters not who sings them...I just love them!!
I also like:
Holly Jolly Christmas - Burl Ives
Suzy Snowflake - Rosemary Clooney
Nuttin' for Christmas - Joe Ward (I think)
I Saw Mommy Kissin' Santa Claus - Jimmy Boyd
The Chipmunk Song - David Seville & The Chipmunks

War is Over by John Lennon always seems to make me want to cry...
Several years ago (around this time of year) my wife left me for another guy and the two of them kept me from my 2 year old son during the holidays... I started seriously contemplating suicide.
When I heard John Lennon sing,
"So this is Christmas,
and what have you done?"
-I just lost it.
I got to thinking "War is Over" in terms of the finality of suicide.
Sorry guys, I didn't mean to bring anybody down.
I actually like the song, though I DO have sad memories of it.
Hey! How about Gene Autry's version of Rudolph?

((Incitatus)) so glad you found something to make you stop and think about the permanency of suicide. Now when I hear the song I will be grateful cause it kept you here so I could get to know you!

Thanks Lil, you're always so sweet!
Speaking of sweet, that situation had a happy ending...
I eventually met the sweetest, most wonderful woman on the face of the earth and every time I see her she makes me VERY happy to be alive.
Back to the topic:
Burl Ives sings some my favorite Christmas songs.
Once I saw this (African-American) woman on PBS singing "O, Holy Night" with an orchestra. It put a serious lump in my throat.
Ever since then it has been my all-time favorite Christmas song.
It was SO moving.

Aqua~Christmas Eve in Sarejevo is AWESOME
Dude33~You wanna hear an awesome version of Ave Maria? Go get the Harry Connick Jr Xmas CD..the whole thing is incredible.
SheDaisy (a country group of 3 Mormon sisters) did a GREAT Xmas CD. Traditional carols with a little bit of a twist, different harmonies/melodies. Very cool. Alan Jackson and Allison Krauss did a song called "When the Angels Cried" it's another good one. Then of course there's Garth Brook's Xmas CD, another good one, and off his "7's" CD I think was one about the soldiers during WW1 all singing Silent night together during an Xmas Cease Fire.
Just a few things for ya to check out Lil...
