Turkey Turkey Turkey
When 23 members of the family get together for a family 'pot-luck' thanksgiving dinner
There is one heck of a lot of food
Should I try to recount it?
I missed the beginning, I arrived late (work $#%)
but I was saved a slice of homemade pizza with home grown (No not that...) tomatoes
Let see what was first?
Oh Yeah The Feast...
Turkey A huge one carved by my Cuz
Gravy of course
Tasty Stuffing
Killer Scallop potatoes
3-4 different colors of carrots yum
Tasty Red cabbage (nice little raspberry zing to it...)
I made some Cranberry sauce
(yes I know huge contribution for a chef, but there was more...)
Then was my big course
Salad!!!
Went to the market this morning...
I got three different kinds of salad,
Arugula picked fresh this morning (this morning was warmer than the current 36 F)
Some supper delicious cherry tomatoes (3 kinds), and Peach tomatoes
And with all that I decided a simple Balsamic & Good Olive Oil would be a fine complement
Then...
Well the term Cheese plate, or Cheese plates (3) just don't quite do it justice
We had enough cheese for 2-3 times as many of us
But No Need to skim here We Love the Cheese
(besides too much ain't so bad... I came home with a nice piece of the two best ones !!!)
So by the way I was hugely stuffed after the first huge main course...
so now, two courses later,
The mention of the word Dessert
Brought fear to me
But I quickly came back to my senses...
I'm fine I can do it
Well I only tasted 3 of the 4 options...
Pecan Pie, I love pecan pie so much...
Pumpkin pie (got to do the traditional rout e too...)
And a killer 3 chocolate Chocolate cake
I couldn't face the apple pie
(come on now, my stomach is still achingly full...)
All in all
Too much food
and too many folks to talk to
Oh by the way
My Bro has a great wine cellar, also helps wash everything down...

More Turkey
Last night was quite something
I went to my local watering hole, the Barfly
Not only was Vic Vogel (famous local conductor), practicing with an 18 piece orchestra, But there was a huge buffet turkey dinner for anyone who walked in. My first time having thanksgiving dinner with a big band playing.
I mean a huge spread, unfortunately I was too late to get to the eggplant parm, but everything was great, and the bird was Huge... People had already been eating an hour when I got there and I still managed to get in for seconds. Oh and dessert too, lets see there were, 4 pumkin pies, some sort of apple crumble?, and a killer cake, angel sponge cake with cranberry sauce, and a ton of whipped cream

Didn't have a proper dinner tonight. Made cheese sandwiches for lunch, with lettuce and rocket from my allotment, but only ate one of them at lunchtime, so finished the second one for supper, followed by bread and jam, washed down with tea.
I'll make a proper supper tomorrow (promise!).
