A few years ago I built a treehouse for a client. The site was right on the edge of a marsh so the mozzies and black flied got pretty bad. A sample pack from Burt's Bees came to me. In the bag was a container of bug repellant. Nothing to loose, because I had my Deet ready if it didn't work. Well, it worked pretty fair. It would sweat off quickly but it was very clear when I needed to lather up again. Check the contents, but I'm quite sure there's no Deet.
