A point I hadn’t considered before, is that we have our sexy people all over the world who can give us the REAL dope on anything we want to know about from a first hand view. We’ll be posting information about the tentative Pixie Adults Gathering At Niagara on this thread. Because we are blessed with resident Pixies that have a greater insight than any chamber of commerce or brochure printer, we’ll be able to ferret out the best bang for our buck and timely information on everything from accommodations and official border crossing requirements to alternate attractions and substitute traffic routes that will be at the absolute peek of tourist season.

We hope to have well coordinated information regarding this event in the next two weeks from among us that have previously visited over 10 times and from Pixies living near by.

Sorry to be slow in posting some real information about our Pixie Adult Gathering At Niagara. Our busy Pixies have been shooting bits and clumps of information and options at me and I’m sorting pieces and piles for posting here.

First thing I’ve become aware of is that what is taken for granted by any of us that have been there, is the fact that you don’t go to Niagara Falls to see it from the American side. That would be equal to touring Europe only from Iceland. Close but no cigar.

It took a minute for me (and others) to realize “How would they know!?!?”. Travel agents are going to point you to the places with the slickest web sites, best Madison Avenue brochures and biggest commissions. We hope to give some insight from the views of different people with many visits.

That being said, we WILL focus our gathering on the Canadian side and I’ll be posting all the current information regarding border crossing, within the next day. It is not a problem this year.

I’ve been asked a number of times about proper documentation for Canada/USA border crossing at the present time, and I’m happy to tell you it is not an issue. In light of the rapid changes, I felt compelled to wade DEEP into the ‘bluraucracy’ for a statement I could post with some confidence.

Summery- (with reference links for both countries)

Any US citizen, bring your drivers license and have a certified copy of your birth certificate handy.


Any non-US citizen from some countries (like Australia!) going into
Canada from the US only needs the passport and visa that got them into the US.


Many changes are proposed, scheduled and under discussion by political grandstanders and in the Department of Homeland Security and the Keystone Cop’s Committee for Chinese Fire Drills, to take effect 31 December 2006, but this is it for now.

For the people that are going to Pixies Adult Gathering At Niagara, there is going to be a large selection of things to do. As you can see from just a few minutes of surfing, there is a LOT of things built around such an attraction. I want to take a moment and speak to the first time visitor to the Falls.

It is the attraction it is, because of the truly fantastic natural phenomena. Niagara Falls IS considered one of the Natural Wonders Of The World. Perhaps we who have had this spectacular occurrence available are guilty of taking it for granted. We also are hampered by the fact that our language created superlatives, but uses them on such trivial things. I can only tell you this is where words like “awesome”, “amazement” “astonishment”, and “wonder” have their root and purpose. “Ya really had to be there!” is a superlative phrase that had to be first muttered in this place.

It requires a second visit to be able to intellectually take in the Falls. Your first close contact with the incredible power is very emotional, what some of us consider spiritual. I share this consensus after discussions with others and do not merely present my opinion. Therefore, I would also like to share the consensus of joint experience in recommending things you want on your “Must Do” list.

As for Falls focused attractions, there are many as your surfing will show. You can do everything from take a pricey helicopter ride over them, to jet boat rides into the whirlpool, to getting that picture of yourself against the railing with the Falls in the background or at the famous floral clock. (That is a pic you will put in the album with your graduation and wedding pics and they’re free.) Here are the three ways to experience the Falls that you will try to do at least two of. They are reasonable in price and acceptable in time.

Maid of the Mist...
There's no better way to see Niagara Falls than on the world-famous Maid of the Mist. People from all over the world have been enjoying the spectacular views this boat offers since 1846. Once on board you will be given a hooded raincoat and will get up close and personal with the breathtaking Niagara Falls scenery. The experience will leave you with memories to last a lifetime.

Whirlpool Aero Car

Far below the torrent of water abruptly changes direction, creating one of the world’s most mesmerizing natural phenomenon – The Niagara Whirlpool. Sometimes frightening and always unforgettable.

With the different interests, schedules and available time of each person, it is on them to take in these Falls astonishments on their own Friday, Sunday or early Saturday. Saturday afternoon and evening are slatted to be Pixie fellowship.

Tents will be set up along the shore of the mighty waters at the Days Inn Niagara North meadows on 12 August 2006 for Pixies Adult Gathering At Niagara. Each tent will have 2 Queen beds, gas fireplace, colour television, in room movies, in room coffee, hairdryer, individual climate control and full bathroom.

For two adults it will cost $CAD 228.00 ($USD 191.25) [plus the hefty Canadian tax which will drop to 14% by then] for that night. For the people interested in sharing a room, there is an aditional $CAD 10.00 per person. The same room is available on Friday for $CAD 168.00 ($USD 141.12) and also on Sunday the 13th for $CAD 148.00 ($USD 124.00) for Pixies that may be staying an additional night to take in the many unique attractions.

A block of 10 rooms has been set aside until 16 July 2006 for “Pixie Gathering” by which time our reservations MUST be reserved. Being the peek of tourist season, they will not guarantee availability of a room, period, and surely not together.

I’ve just been told some Pixies are intending to optimize the Pixie Adults Gathering At Niagara and will be staying a number greater than one night.

OldFart and Mrs. OldFart will be arriving in Buffalo NY on Thurday, 10 August, and making their way across the border to Niagara, Canada. He expressed hopes of happily meeting any Pixies as they take in some of the sights on Friday, before PAGAN on Saturday. I want to give the break-down for additional hotel nights for the people that have already told me they will be staying added days.

As we know, August is the peek tourist season and the inn keepers know it too. Their registers ring louder in this month and also by the day of the week. This same room was available for $48 on a Wednesday night in April. lol
