1) Go to your "user cp" button and click it. This will take you to your profile "control panel".

2)From there click the "edit options" tab. At the bottom there is an option for "avatar".

3)Click the far right tab "change avatar".

4) Scroll to the bottom. At "You can upload an avatar from your computer", click the "Browse" button. Search your computer and open the image you want to upload as your avatar. There are size restrictions, so be careful.

5) Once you have your image selected, chose the "submit modifications" button and you are done!

Yeah. What 'zoid said. You need to make it pretty small to fit. The system should have given you a message that said it was too big and to make it smaller.
