Alasse,
Just stay out of my boogie board bag.
Sprite, we'll be on the US side, but may hop over the border on Friday if it's do-able, just to get the stamp in the passport.

Mr. Lixy and I are going to try to be there OF! It's very dependant on Mr. Lixy's health at the time. He's still recovering from his last hospital stay...but doing pretty well to date.
We've never been to Niagra falls. That won't be the highlight though. Meeting you and Mrs. OF and PF and everybody will be grade A fun!
It's about an 6-8 hour drive for us so we'll stay the weekend I suppose. Hope to see ya...and anyone else who attends!

We're hoping you can be there, both of you. I look at the calendar and it's so close it's scary.
Mrs Oldfart is getting into the spirit, wanting to meet the people I've spent so long on the 'puter with.

I did a quick search for hotel rooms yesterday. The second place I looked at offered a suite for eight adults for $235 American. I hadn't thought of something like that but it could perhaps work?
Besides the obvious attraction, there's casinos in the area & wine-tasting tours. If anyone is interested in the wine, lemme know & I'll do some research.

I always wanted to go wine tasting, but I don't drink anymore.
But a little casino trip would be fun.

It's not Vegas like Boog & I talked about . . .
I don't gamble, I just wanted to go to the desert to find peyote. I digress!

A quick question for you Canadians, that is, you people from Canadia.
Cross border traffic between the US and Canada is just a show of ID for citizens of the two countries, but do we have to jump through the hoops to get a visa for Canada?
Departure and arrival taxes were also mentioned.
We've had it suggested that the Canadian side of the Falls is more scenic, and if it makes for a nicer venue, are there any solid reasons why not?

I hadn't thought about international visitors, OF. My bad.
I've just jumped on here:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pub/visit.html
Americans can cross without a passport but if there's a criminal record involved, you'd be better off with one. A driver's licence suffices for the next 18 months or so, I believe.

It occurs to me, just throwing in my , considering Oz & Canada's mutual status as former British Empire subjects might be enough to grease the skids of the customs procedures? Just a thought, seems that at some time in the not-to-distant past that crossing the borders may have fairly easy, could that still be?

Mrs OF's checking through the red-tape factories.
We can but hope.
