Need Seven Year Itch Advice
Ok so it only feels like I've been itching for seven years!
This damn poison ivy is driving me insane!!!!! :dizzy:
It's all over my arms and one leg...and after the other night, well, I'm afraid it might soon appear all over Mrs. WI too!

WI there's an oatmeal bath thing that's supposed to ease the torture of poison ivy, check the pharmacy for some of that. I keep some handy for the kids JIC.

I've heard about that but never tried it. If it gets much worse...I may have to! Does it come with maple & brown sugar, or will I have to add my own?

Try Aveeno oatmeal baths -- they work!

When I had it so bad I couldn't stand it...I finally had to go to the doc's.
Turned out she had it too...on her mouth/lips. I had to ask (you know I did) and she said she has a pet llama who loves to eat the ivy and she loves to get kisses from her llama...LMFAO!
Anyway...she gave me a shot that immediately stopped the itch and started drying it up. I have a few slight scars now, but the shot finally did the trick when everything else fell short.
I feel your agony WI! Good luck!

thanks everyone
I scrubbed the shit out of my arms last night and doused myself with anti-ivy wash, then calidryl. I'm not itching as bad and I hope it stopped the spreading too.

yikes!
there is stuff you can buy at the drugstore to treat it. and anything that woult dry out the oils..like maybe washing yourself in 89 octane. i know that sounds nuts but it will work.
other than that i can tell you eveytime you scratch you spread the oils so don't scratch. soft clothing fabrics, no washcloths, seperate laundry. and use cold water in the shower, too. it helps keep the oil that sluffs off with the spray from sticking to your skin and spreading the rash.

jet fuel is best but if you wanna go chintsy who'm i to stop you. it's your body.
naw...i'm sure it would be fine. be warned though, i am giving you this advice but i've never done it. bigbad (who seems to get poison ivy more than anyone i know) had it bad one time and he asked me to scratch it~(i don't seem to get poison ivy ~ first with my fingers and then with a butter knife then we wiped all the spots with gas...i swear it worked but although he was stoic, i suspect it hurt like a mutherfucker.

This had the potential to go the way of the caulking thread.
Did someone already mention rubbing alcohol? I was too busy trying to find sexual innuendoes to check.
