We our recent rains and being in the country where there is a lot of standing water in ditches and farm fields, I am pretty much stuck inside as there are literally clouds of them just waiting for my sweet self to walk out the door..

No DEET? I wouldn't have any blood left.
Good luck

I swear by Avon's Skin So Soft...rub it on and nothing will come near you! And it also moisturizes....although a bit greasy at first.
((((Chey)))) ~~ good luck!

It appears the dude is sporting an extra bit of netting in his pants. Yum!
Er, sorry Cheyanne. I have no hints. I'm leaving myself wide open to yet another PF attack but bugs leave me alone for some reason. This year it's supposed to be a banner year for skeets but I haven't had a single bite yet (knock on wood).

Cheyanne, anything thing with Citronella oil (ex: Skin so Soft) works but the only catch is that you have to apply it pretty much every hour or so to retain it's effectiveness. Another suggestion is spraying it on your clothes instead of your skin. If DEET isn't an option, try something with permethrin (sorry I don't know any brand names for that).

LOL @ Steph (in a friendly supportive way of course)
I have tried that Skin-So-Soft stuff and the skeetos love that stuff... I just know that they wait in the bushes for me...hmmmmmmm, something smells like that Avon Stuff.. oh! it is her!!! Lets get her!!!!!!!! <shakes head>
I have tried the citronella stuff too with no luck. They must be immune to the stuff around here because everyone else swears by the stuff too!
I am thinking about getting one of those smoke sticks.. the kind you light and then blow out and it smokes (kinda like incense) and carrying it around with me when I go outside.. lol
So, when you see smoke signals you know I am outside!
