Lilith!
Here's to the memories skip...
I've got a lot of rearranging to do this year. My zebra grasses have become so big that they have to be relocated before they start to grow this year. I think their varigated colors will look stunning against the gray stone of our smokehouse walls...so we are moving them over there and bringing the maiden grass (a smaller, feather like grass) over to where we take the zebra from. I have smaller plants that need more shade. It seems they got too much morning sun last year and I didn't get the effect I wanted. I've transplanted all the daffodil bulbs that the squirrels "relocated" (buried for winter consumption) the year before last...and I see signs of them liking their new home this year. I just bought some multi-colored Sparaxis bulbs to put in my basket-like pot in the middle of the backyard. They look like tiny poppy's. I've checked my Canna, which I have to uproot and store in the cellar each year...and they haven't sent out any sprigs of life yet. It's a matter of time though, because the daylight hours are longer now...and they can "see" the difference and will begin to insist on being planted! They'll go in a sunnier spot this year.
We have a "rule" round these parts...We usually wait till Mother's Day to begin full fledged and safe flower planting. It's the zone I'm in and one learns to live with it! There are veggies I can start inside now...if I had the notion. But, I've scaled down my veggie garden from 100'x30' to 3'x3'...lol...because I was tired of being a slave to THE GARDEN OF WEEDIN!
One more major touch to the smokehouse garden this year...Mr. Lixy bought me a huge "National Geographic", cedar, birdfeeder...that I can't wait to display...as soon as we can pound the stake into the ground, that is. I'll post a pic of it when it's set up. No...he didn't want to take on another project for me this year...as he still has to finish our picnic table and has yet to start on my corner hutch (hint, hint...for when he reads this)...so he purchased the feeder instead of making it himself. Smooth move Mr. Lixy!

Have you thought about adding a coin slot to the Beer Mister, that only accepts tokens issued for finish projects? ::grin:

I herb shopped some yesterday and planted some strawberry plants in hanging baskets. The tomatoes and peppers looked pretty pitiful so I'm waiting til better stock gets here. Last year I had lofahs growing up this huge pyramid trllis Mr. Lil made me and I think I'm going to shoot purple hulls up it this spring. I wish I had gotten the seeds in the ground yesterday cause we are having a gentle rain all day today. We are planting variegated liriope all along the curb this year so I picked those up. I know a certain kid who had best avoid trouble at school this week or be prepared to put all 50 plants in

ROFLMFAO!
Sounds beautiful Lil...I wish I had your climate now...instead of having to wait it out. We're expecting a Nor'easter tonight into tomorrow...*sigh*

I noticed when I went out to get the morning paper that my ash tree (I think that's what it is anyway) is budding and my neighbors daffodils are in full bloom. I never got around to trimming back my crepe myrtle trees in my back this year... and I also noticed that my rose bushes that I'm desperately trying to kill have plenty of new growth sprouting from the ground... it's definitely spring here.
