There is something about a first snow that makes me feel all excited....it is really pretty when it first snows....
Light the fireplace, bake some good cinnamon stuff...tea, warm blankets and soothing music... cuddly sex.. lol

No snow for us this week, maybe next week they say. I love how pretty the snow is, but it won't hurt my feelings if it holds off until Christmas.
Thank You for the pics DB, your little pixie statues look cold.

Ended up with maybe 6". Our daughter (the one in Indianapolis) called. She, her husband and our grand-daughter were on their way to Chicago for Thanksgiving dinner with his folks. Normally a couple hour drive ... they'd been on the road 5 hours and still "creeping" along. Arrrg. That would drive me crazy.
It is a pretty snow with it covering the tree branches and everything. Probably most will melt today or tomrrow ... just in time for our next forecasted "wintry conditions."

More Pictures of Our First Snow of the Season
Today is bright and sunny and the snow and ice sparkle like diamonds. Drove around and took a few pictures to share with you. It is pretty and will probably be gone by this weekend with higher temperatures and rain predicted beginning tomorrow.

IAKG, you just need to stay home for a while. There’s been a lot of snow in November in your area at times, according to the almanac .
Quote:
November 25, 1950
Another region that sees more than its normal share of action in La Nina winters is the region from the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys to the Appalachians. The biggest storm to affect this region in November of a La Nina year was the Great Appalachian Storm of 1950.
It dumped 57 inches of snow on Pickens, WV and 36 inches in parts of Ohio. Further east, the story was not snow but wind and rain. It was the greatest windstorm of a non-hurricane category ever there. Wind gusts reached 108 mph in Newark NJ and 110 mph in Concord, NH.

My family happened to be traveling thru Charleston, W. Va. that year and it’s the first winter that I still remember. After getting back to Cleveland, a week later, I got to also see military tanks in our streets for the first time, delivering milk to stores.
Thanks for the beautiful pics DB, (as always). As Osuche said, not much settled here and most of that is gone now. This is no big deal for our cousins above 49° N, but with only about 3 months, it makes for a nice, complete seasonal change.
The pic isn’t from this year, but does make for a pretty view from our kitchen window. (and the older I get, the more I like looking at it from there. )
