after seeing the 658934598734955865836 gallons of water our neighbors have in their driveway i had a random thought. why do people spend so much $$$ on water when those bottling companies 1) usually get it straight from the city lines 2)do not need to follow the same strict guidelines as city water works do and get away with more arsenic and other poisons, dangerous microbes and heavy metals in their water than you would ever find in a glass that came from your city water tap 3) lie through their teeth about where the water comes from and 4) charge more per gallon then the price of gasoline.

Sometimes people just need to make decisions and stick to them, no matter the regret or "buyers remorse" they experience...

Also...
While the city water itself is heavily treated and tested it still has to go through a great deal of pipes before it ends up out of your tap. Especially your house pipes. So there is more variables. Most cities do tests besides just in the storage facility but odds are the majority of the tests are in the pumping stations etc. Before it travels in some cases several miles and then through your own pipes which they have no control over. Especially in older homes that have metallic pipes vs PVC pipes.
Most cities too dont' allow well water to be used and in some ways have a monopoly over who has to buy their services so they don't spend the gazillion dollars on advertising that water companies do. Same reason that a woman that is healthy and in good condition but isn't a size three feels "fat" or why we eat crappy tasting food at "fast food" places that is horrible for us. Unfortunately too often we watch commercials like zombies and follow their commands lol.
Personally the best water I have ever drank was from my mom and dads. Pure artesian fed well over 300 feet deep. Water is so cold it will make feel almost comfortable in the hot Texas sun. Of course they live in the country though so no city water for them.

I drank filtered water from the city today ... and I can tell you I won't make the mistake of forgetting my bottled water again. My absolute favorite water is that that comes out of the spigot on my refrigerator door ... course I've not had that water in two months nearly, but I digress... carry on.

Random thought ~ (or rant really)
Why do some people who work with you feel like they know what your job should consist of better than you? Why do my supervisor(s) feel that I can do the job of 3 people? Why did they not hire another full time person and feel that I could do that job ON TOP of the job that I normally do plus do the work that they paid someone $80,000 a year for???????
or... better yet, how do some people get away with spending 3 hours looking at little 8 1/2 x 11 sheets of paper glued on colored paper trying to decide if the arrow on the sign should be pointed in a different direction?

Why is it that the grass is always greener on the other side? I mean....geesh....can't we ever be happy with what we have?

I love arguing with schools who insist they better understand my daughter (who they couldn't pick out of a line-up) than I do.
Why is it that when a child is struggling in school it's because of a lack of parental involvement in their education, yet when we express concerns about their upcoming teacher not being a good match...they know best?

And, sure as shit, the guy I was talking about is back on Queen St. plying his wares after a stint in jail.
You can always tell they were in jail because they weigh more (depending on how long they've been in).
