One for the Good Guys!
Texas has filed a lawsuit against two men believed to be among the world's top spammers. It is seeking millions of dollars in damages in a civil lawsuit filed last week.
The lawsuit was filed against Ryan Pitylak, a University of Texas student and Mark Trotter, who are thought to be the top executives in three companies that are accused of sending out millions of unsolicited e-mail messages.
Greg Abbott, the Texas attorney general, alleges that messages sent by the companies broke the 2003 CAN-Spam Act as well as the Texas Electronic Mail and Solicitation Act and Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act.
