Not so much about the prices this weekend, but something that has bothered me for sometime now, why are gas prices always stated to three decimals and the last is always a 9? Such as 1.959. This caught my eye one day at a brand new Exxon station, their sign was erected and the last 9 was permanently fixed to the sign for all of the prices. Since then I have noticed that every gas station I go to has this pricing scheme, and no one I've asked to date has come up with an answer for me. So, brilliant pixies, does anyone know?
