Twisted Tango
You stand in the pavilion, your head bowed low;
leaning on the railing, you’re fading out slow.
We haven't got much time,
these narrow stairs, I climb;
I’m your shady girl incognito.
Your face distorted in the moonlight and rain.
The rough kiss upon my lips a guilty stain.
I’m strapped to my stilettos,
we dance a twisted tango;
my body tilts back in wilted shame.
There’s no music, but for our staccato cries.
Hooked onto you, your hands hoist up my thighs.
We grasp in our embrace,
I’ve lost all sense of grace;
I turn my head, I cannot meet your eyes.
The rising sun sheds light on our bare skin.
My torn red dress is wrinkled up in sin.
No longer in disguise,
my dark desire dies.
And yet I know I’ll meet you here again.
