Why is it still funny???
I almost put this under [What Made You Smile Today?], but thought it deserved a thread of it's own.
I had an inspiration to visit my favorite novelty shop today  ……………… and came back wondering why so many of the OLD classic gimmicks became classic. YES, the rubber chicken and clacking teeth are so camp, and we smile and roll our eyes as we shake our heads, but it DID make us smile.  I no longer look at the singing fish with much beyond apathy at best now. The spring snakes in the peanut brittle can still brings a chuckle for some reason.
What makes classic, classic?

I dont know why.......but it sure feels good to laugh so hard at that silly, innocent stuff, doesn't it??? Every time I go in one of those stores, I usually have tears from laughing so hard.
