Wish me luck and prayers please.
In January, my dad had a mild-ish stroke. But, within 6 wks, he recovered, went back to work. All was good. Then I get a phone call yesterday. he fell out at work again yesterday and they were thinking heart attack at first.
Well, around 5:30 last night my older bro called a family meeting. We had to wait for all of us kids to show up--everyone had the support of their spouse/SO except me. But, I had plenty of people backing me during the meeting as well.
My older brother(39) talked directly to the docs down there at the Medical center where Dad is in Gainesville. The enzyme test came back negative for a heart attack; the CAT scan came back negative for stroke. Still, as in January, there are NO blockages what so ever. They can not find out what has caused this. At the time yesterday, he was sedated to keep him from removing the breathing tube--but as of last night, he is fully unconscious and non-responsive. He's on life support at this time. The docs say that it's not impossible for Daddy to come out of this, but very highly unlikely. And that if any of us want to see him, we need to come down ASAP. Then at some point, the 5 of us, NOT our spouses, will have to decide whether or not to keep him on life support. My step-mom is calling for all of us to come down. My older bro, SIL, niece, a friend of ours and maybe my lil sis(the 23 yr old) left late last night/early this morning...as soon as they were packed. My little bro (22)& his gf, I think are leaving today(and I think our bio mom is going w/them)...then my baby sis (19) and her bf will leave today after he gets off at noon. Jaden and my nephew Brad can't go as they are too young to go on the floor they have Dad on. So, Brad is going to stay here with a family friend.
I called James' supervisor at home last night and told him I needed James on the next available plane home NOW!! and explained the situation. So, James will be flying on an 11:50 flight today and will arrive back in Chatt around 2:50-3 pm. Then we will go and pick up his Walmart paycheck and we will leave from there.
Everyone's worried about sending me into pre-term labor with the stress; but as long as I have information to digest, I can deal. It's when they cut me out that I panic.

I'm so sorry to read this SD. My only living Grandparent had a heart attack last year when I was about 20 weeks pregnant, and everyone was worrying about me going into labour early, but I just kept calm, and made sure I continued to look after myself so I didn't add to everyone else's stress level.
I hope it all goes OK for you sweetheart. I'm sure you'll feel better when James gets home. Take care.

Try to stay calm, may be difficult at times. Thats when you lean on James and let everyone else worry. You stressing out won't help. Put your feet up and rest when you can. Don't forget to eat well and drink plenty of water too.
You and your family, your Dad, his doctors and care-givers are in my thoughts.
