Women & Couples-Do you attend motorcycle events
I am interested in knowing if there are any women or couples here that ride motorcycles and attend some of the events around the country.
What ones do you like the best and why?

I am not a biker, but my cousin manages a bar that hosts weekly "bike nights" and so my buddy (who owns a Harley Sport) and his wife and I have gone up there and hung out. Its not something that I can say I would have done, alone, or without Dave and Helen, but its been a good time.
The FLEETING idea of purchasing a bike has now crossed my mind though...........

Did you have a good time there?
If so what especially did you like?
Did going there interest you in attending other motorcycle functions?

When we were coming home from our vacation in Pigeon Forge we drove through the Smokies where the Tennessee River is and it was incredible. The roads were the windiest (sp?) I had ever seen and there were motorcycles everywhere. I don't remember the name but there was a pit stop place called Dragon something. Looked like a blast!

Back when I was a kid, we lived in the Black Hills of South Dakota, so the Sturgis rally was something that we'd go to during the day. We got Mom's hands over our eyes once in a while, and she'd tell my dad not to look, but I didn't know what was going on until I was in my early 20's and swung thru Sturgis in 1998.
I love August along Interstate 90. Always full of Harleys, and the gas stations and bars along the way seem like their own mini-rallys.
Once Mayhem is here in the States, I have told him that we will go out to the Black Hills around Rally time. I think it is something we'll both enjoy. Who knows, I may plant in him the "I just gotta have a Harley" bug. MMmmmm just the thought of my legs wrapped around him as we sit on a rumbling powerful Harley....MmmmHHhhmmmm, that is music to my ovaries!

I have been riding for over 46yrs.I used to go to Laconia every year.I don't
go to any anymore, for three main reasons!
1.The cops cause more trouble than the Bikers!
2.I stopped alcohol,& they're just not the same!
3.Most of the so-called Bikers, are what we used to call-Weekend Warriors or
Wanna-bes!They are motorcycle enthusiasts, not Bikers.I have run TWO shops
Customizing, repairing &Chopping. It used to be that you could depend on fellow Bikers! The Comraderie is gone(probably because there are so many Bikes now!) Irish
P.S.Just my $.02.
P.P.S.I used to put my Bike up on slippery days.I built it to race & even with
the large back tire,I just couldn't get any traction!

Sturgis
Lizzardbits
I recently returned from Sturgis. It is probably the best motorcycle event in the country. Especially if you get out and ride around the Black Hills.
There is just so much to see and do and parties everywhere.
Of course it does not take much to get a party started once you get a bunch of motorcycle riders together.
More than one woman has told me about having orgasms while riding on one.
Hell I was even the operator of the motorcyle in a few of them Haha

Laconia
Irish
I have been riding for 56 years and rode to Laconia on a regular basis from Connecticut.
I can appreciate comments from someone with your years of riding.
I did ride to Laconia two years ago from Florida and have to somewhat agree with you about your reasons for not going.
The cops have found a way for the citizens to pay for them to attend these events and in many cases they cause more trouble than the bikers.
I still consume alcohol but in small quanties. DUI laws will put a serious hurt on you. Now there are times when we go in a vehicle or at the house or hotel and that is different.
Motorcycle Enthusiasts and weekend warriors have a place in the motorcycle world. Many of them have added to the enjoyment of this old biker through the years.
Among other things I am a photo journalist for some national motorcycle magazines so I do ride to these events around the country. I do get a lot of interesting photos and many times involved in interesting situations.
Hey Its A Dirty Job But Someone Has to Do It haha

Biker Rogue---I also own a home in W Melbourne Fla.I was going to build a
Chopper Trike for there using a Leman(sp?) rear & a Harley extended front!
I pretty much poo-pooed that idea because the prices now are so exorbatent(sp?)The chopper that I just sold was bought new in Conn.It was a kick start.
I now have diabetic neuropothy. With the high compression pistons,in my old
bike,I ended up breaking my foot.I could have changed it to an elec. start, but
then it wouldn't be a '71 anymore.I rode to Laconia,from Conn,many times.I
was born & brought up there.I moved to NH,where my wife is from,(Ports)many yrs ago.Times have really changed! When I was stationed at Pease AFB,
in the early '60s,there were three bikes on base.I had to see the Base Commander, because owning a motorcycle, was actios unbecoming of an Airman.I've been there for the VA now & I bet theres 300.When I was there,it was a SAC Base, now it is National Guard &civilian businesses. Irish
P.S.I don't know if you've ever seen "Biker Buildoff" on the Discovery Channel.
Billy Lane,one of the builders,has a shop,in Melbourne.I bought a T-shirt there.All sizes are $26 or $27.Needless to say,my Grandkids(4),got souvineer
T-shirts,from another shop, that said Melbourne on them!
