Presents for Dad on Mother’s Day??
Besides American Greeting, Hershey and FTD, does anybody think you should buy presents for your dad on Mothers Day?
My son’s two daughters and my daughter’s two daughters each got a little basket thingy with some fake flowers, a fuzzy thing and a bunch of chocolate candy today. When I was asked why I didn’t have one for Quinn, I was ‘admonished’ when I said “he’s a boy”.
Isn’t Valentine’s Day basically for the women in our lives? Isn’t that when a guy is suppose to acknowledge his affection for the love of his life. Husbands and boyfriends give their lady something sweet and feminine because they are the nice part of their personal life. Dads and Grandpas give something to their princesses until the white knights arrive and carry them off, but wouldn’t a guy buying a present for another guy be like painting pansies on a suite of armor?
Is the ‘expansion’ of all our special days just the * chaching* of Madison Avenue or am I missing something?

BAD PF!!! Valentine's day is for everyone, not just the women....sure it's easier to buy for the girls but that's when you have to get creative and thoughtful for the men in your life. Now you go get that child something right now! lol

Yep, I agree. I've *always* gotten my special someone something for Valentine's Day, and this year is no exception. Obviously, merchants tend to push items for women--jewelry, lingerie, etc.--but that's not the intended spirit of the holiday.

Not if the guy is your grandson....kids don't understand adults rationale.
You goofed and should have gotten him something.
After all Valentine's Day is to buy something for someone you love! Grandson or Grandaughter...it makes no difference.

I don't know how commercial it is in my case, but I have always put together a little something for my boys, who are now 17 and 13, and I will do it again this year. In fact, I already have their Valentine gifts. It just has always made sense to me to give the two people I love most in the world a little "reminder" on this holiday.

Pf you know where I was going with that.....it's the thought of " hey he might like this" they put that on it to make it easier and for old goats like you it seems like you need an airport beacon to arrive at a holiday spirt for anything........lol

Love? Sure for about 30% of the population.Valentines Day is all about sex, romance and intrigue, which isn't a pop to grandson thing!
I have given Valentines gifts to many women I didn't love and very few that I did.

*weeeeeee* thanks jb.
I knew I was in trouble when there were 5 views and 4 posts to this thread.
I must have mixed up women's equality with gender reversal somewhere.
LOL

And another thing!! If I got my grandson a Valentines gift my son would think I was a sick homosexual pedophile and get a restraining order to keep me away.

Valentines day is for both sexes....but i would only give to the opposite sex to my self (well except if i sent "Anon" for a special friend *LOL*) that would be regardless of if the girl (in my case) was my granddaughter, niece or any other female relative
Now Mothers Day on the other hand....well thats for the girlies
Fathers Day is for the guys

If it's not a pop to grandson thing then it shouldn't be a pop to grandaughter thing either then with what your impression is on the day.
My thoughts are if you buy something for one grandchild you buy for all so none feel left out.
