Shocking, isn't it??
And John Ritter was only a couple weeks older than I am.
It's a sad day indeed. A huge loss for the entertainment world.

Many people don't know it,but John Ritter, was one of the biggest
womanisers in Hollywood! No,I'm not throwing stones, just stating
fact!
Johnny Cash living to be 71 means 1 thing:
Moral rink hard,Drug hard,go to jail, have complications from Diabetes, stay with one woman and you will live a long, creative
life.(I knew that I did something right!) Irish

Wow...I can't believe it about Ritter. He was an interesting person...not a great actor IMHO, but always interesting.

Diva, I've been sending out e-mails with "The Two Johns" as the subject line today.
I even called my father this morning during "prime time" rates to talk to him about the Man in Black. Dad has pretty much every album.
Sad day, indeed.
One of my first crushes was John Ritter, too.
Johnny Cash apparently never went to jail, just to set the record straight there. Yes, he had drug problems, etc. but the myth of jail time apparently started because he did perform at many jails across the country.

Hug your dad for me Steph......but he is not alone..
Alot of people had each and every album ever made of the man in black!!
At one time, He even outsold the beatles in record sales for one of his albums! I have a few of them myself on cd! But nothing beats the old 8-track that I have...now there is the real Johnny Cash.

My poor dad doesn't know if he should be sad because Johnny Cash died and my dad has been a huge fan for so long. Or if he should be worried because he's 10 years older than Johnny cash! I assured my dad he'll outlive me.
It is a very sad day. I think it makes it a thoughtful day.

Diva---If you're ever looking for an 8-track player,I still have one
in my garage, that I had in one of my previous cars. There is nothing wrong with it,but you could only get CDs.I installed it,in a
75 Nova that I had.I put it in the ashtray compartment,so that it
wouldn't get stolen! You couldn't tell that it was there, unless you opened the ashtray door!It was still like new!Being the packrat,
that I am,I saved it.I also have a few 8-track tapes.I installed the custom speakers in another car! Irish
P.S.Johnny Cash had a song called"Folsom Prison Blues".Whether
it was from a performance or from life experience,I don't know!

Thanks for the offer Irish! But I will pass...I have one.
When I was 16 and had a part time job , I went out and bought everyone in my family a nice christmas gift. I purchased, a combination cassette/8-track ghetto blaster for my grandfather and grandmother. They loved it! When he past a couple years ago and my grandmother had to move from a house to an apartment, she pulled me aside and gave the ghetto blaster back to me and said " He wanted you to have this back..." with his collection of music...
So every now and then I pull it out and listen to the old stuff and restore the memories.

John Ritter was only 54 years old. His death has made a woman a widow, 4 children fatherless, a brother without a sibling and a mother without one of her sons. I can only care that his death has brought about much anguish for his family and the thought that we should treasure every day!
Johnny Cash has been ill for a long time and I would bet he just gave up when his wife passed in May.......he had some great songs......ask my brother!

Didn't see this thread at first. It truly is a sad day for the entertainment industry when two such notable entertainers pass away.
Must be a big new show planned for "upstairs." They'll both add a bunch to that, I'm sure.
