Smoke Free
Today is my one year anniversary of being smoke free! I was one of those who thought I could never give up smoking, so I continue to be amazed that I don't smoke anymore.

((((Congrats)))) Was the hardest thing I ever did! I had a relapse recently but got my shit together and stopped very quickly! I was involved in the clinical trials for Nicorette while Mr. Lil was in the millitary... That was quite an experience. They decided how much nicotine to add to the gum based on how raw the participants mouths became by the stuff
You have good reason to be proud. the tobacco companies have had whole departments working to keep successes like yours from happening

What's the smoker above me saying? Let your body thank you, too! (I'm an evil smoker, too, so I tease)
Congrats, Scarlett! You're an inspiration - how did you quit?

Thanks everyone.
Steph, there are no evil smokers. I smoked for 13 years, so I have the utmost empathy for smokers. I quit using the patch, but I did it weird. I wore the patch during the day and ripped that sucker off after supper and smoked until bedtime. In the morning I would put on a fresh patch. That cut me down from a pack and a half a day to a pack a week. One day, I decided I wasn't going to wear the patch, I was going to smoke all my cigarettes that I had left and then be done with them, and I did. I stayed on the patch until I had to give them up too lol It was hard and I was angry, but I got over it

Congratulations, Scarlett. I was five years last Christmas eve after 34 years +/- smoking. I won't preach to anyone, but I sure feel bad when I see young people taking up the habit.

Congratulations, smoking is one of the hardest things to quit.
When I stopped I chewed gum night and day. And I was a very unplesant person to be around. Another bright spot look at all the $$$ you have saved in the last year!

I gave up smoking when the price went up to 80 cents a pack. It was biting into my allowance. I am none the richer for it. ha ha
I've seen people try again and again to quit and it is truly a monumental accomplishment. Congrats to all who those that do it.

Cold turkey is scary Irish. I can't imagine going cold turkey. I was very testy just coming off the patch last year.
I pray that my children never start.

Congrats Scarlett!! I've watched many friends and family members quit, they've all said it was one of the hardest things they've ever done. One year on, you've got to be seriously proud of yourself. And rightfully so!
