George Bush can Bite my Nonexistant Nuts!

Ok. So usually I try to stay away from the touchy topics on message boards, you know, politics, religon, whether the Dallas Cowboys will beat the Pittsburgh Steelers at their next game, that sort of thing. But right now I am really really really fed up with one Mr. George W. Bush.

I realize not all of you are from the states and don't get to share in his idiotic rulings, rantings and adolescent power trips. Lucky you. Don't get me wrong, i love living in America, land of the free and all that, but right now I'm just pissed.

Here's what's happened. My husband, as most of you know is overseas. He's been gone since November, and will be back by Christmas While he's been gone, the military deposits his pay directly into his account, and his LES's (leave and earning statements - paystubs) are mailed to my house. These LES tell you alot of things, just like a regular paystub. they tell you your earnings, for that pay period and the year, taxes, vacation time earned, all that, but they also tell a little more. On a military LES, they tell when you joined and your discharge date - when you can get out. Danny (husband) signed up in 2000. He signed a six year contract with the Army Reserves, which means 6 years of drills and being called up at a moments notice, then another 2 years of being on standby. He was supposed to get out Jan 20, 2006, and I was counting the days.

Notice me saying "was." Because today, I go to the mailbox, get his LES and it gives his discharge date as jan. 2008. which means he has fallen under the backdoor draft initiated by our good armed forces. That means another two years of drills and a very very good chance of another deployment. :bang: And i don't think I can handle that.

Now, i knew this was going to happen and I'm not suprised that it did. But I'm still pissed about it. I watched our fine leader on the telly during his speech the other night and apparnatly, we are seding in no more troops and bringing home no more troops. We keeping a steady course of action that isn't doing shit. We're getting shot, blown up, and basically we'r just pissing people off. All for nothing, it seems to me. And people are apparnatly starting to catch on to this because no one is joining the military...and so they're forced into breaking promises that they made to members already joined.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHH HHHH!!!!!!!!!

OK. i think i feel better now.

((LAW)) I can certainly understand your frustration and I'm so sorry for your situation. Kisses to your man and thank you to you both.

LAW...you may want to verify this with Personnell. I believe that the Jan. 2008 date actually refers to his "TRUE" discharge date...that is, he enlisted for an 8 year comittment which includes the 6 years in the Active Reserve he signed up for followed by the last 2 years on Inactive Ready Reserve (IRR). In any case, he would not be officially discharged (with Honorable Discharge) in hand until January 2008. Check it out and let me know what happens. Also, feel free to ask me any other questions you may have...I was a Warrant Officer in the Army for just over 10 years, so I may be able to shed some light on your concerns. Good luck!!!

BTW...this is in no way intended to defend Bush, as I share your sentiment with regards to him!!!!

I already checked. What they have apparantly done is turn his IRR time into more AR time, thus they aren't "keeping him past his commitment" but it still ups his chances of getting deployed again.

Thanks for alerting me to that avenue, but unfortunately, I've already explored it.

Exclamation

They may have changed it, since then, but I got out of Active Duty in 1965!
I still had 2 yrs of inactive duty, because at the time, you had a 6 yr total
enlistment.At that time you also couldn't accrue,more than 60 days,of leave!
(vacation)If you didn't take,some of the days,you "lost" them.We had people,
taking leaves, just so they didn't lose the time! Irish

GWB can stay as far away from me as possible. My question is,what took you so long to realize what this foney goof ball war criminal really is? I am sorry about your guy in the army, but I do hope he did not sign up after Bush got (s)elected to office. There are plenty of petitions to end this occupation in Iraq and impeach him and his administration for lying to America and the world to go to war in the first place.Check out Movingon.com,ImpeachBush.com, N.I.O.N. and many more. He is now in position to pack the supreme court with judges who will chip away at more of our consititution. The subjects of politics and religion are unpopular I know, but more importatant than ever to hold on to this country as we know it. Get INVOLVED.

he enlisted during the middle of the second Clinton admisitration...about the time ol' boy was seducing interns with cigars.

I am ashamed to say that I voted for Mr. Bush the first time around. I did NOT however do it this time. In fact, I actively campaigned for the Democratic National Convention in my area.

I've checked out several of thsoe websites, but I have to be careful with my involvement in anti-war groups. Not only does it cause me alot of flack with my support network of military wives, but also (get ready for Big Brother) the military moniters the activities of military families, discharged service members and veterans to try and avoid this kind activity.

Big Brother isn't coming, the fucker's already here.

I usually stay away from this too,lol,BUT..GW is a fuckin asshole..Plain and simple..There,I feel better that I said that now,lol..I think Sugarsprinkles avatar says it best..Somewhere in Texas a Village Idiot is missing..This is just a backdoor draft, brought about by the fact that people don't want to enlist,to serve in a war, we had no business going into..Noboby over there asked for help.We should have left them alone..As a decorated Veteran myself,I'm outraged at the way he says we back his decisions..They're getting people in the service now,and they won't let them out!!..wtf!!..He came to this area a while back, and had to bring his own supporters with him by plane..Now that's a popular fuckin man,eh?..I really feel for you, LAW..He,and his cronies, are turning this country into a religious state, just like the place we just invaded..This IS the greatest country in the world, but under this right wing influence,in a short time,we will be,no more..Sorry for the rant..I USED to be open minded about politics, not any more,lol..

Off topic...sort of...but I just read an article somewhere talking about how quite a number of teens and young adults are turned down for service due to being over the weight limits for entrance.

I'd like to know where you read it, if you remember. I would be suprised (and a little pissed) if that were true.

The Royal Australian Air Force is offering big cash bonuses (tax exempt) to retain

pilots, because it costs so much to train new ones.

Question

When I was in,the Armed Forces,John Kennedy,was the President.We had a
requisition,that everyone,had to be able,to pass something called Kennedy's
Physical Fitness Plan(x-situps,x-pushups,etc.)There were "guidelines" about
your wieght(height=x weight)Actually,it made no sense.My buddy,was a large
-boned Italian. He was the same height,as me,but his bones, weighed,as much as I did.He had to report,to the Base Gym,one night a week and one weekend
day, until he got to the proper weight. He looked ridiculas(sp?) at that weight.
