Medical Update (Oh NOT again)
Well, the ENT Doctor this time still does NOT want to get into my sinuses and "clean me out" or "play roto-rooter" (his terms). So, 14 more days of the FIFTH anti-biotic, and ANOTHER nasal spray.
And another follow up on June 30th.
*sigh*

Have you ever used a Nettie Pot? The ENT's here advise it over all other meds or procedures.

Is that like a Sinus-Rinse? Pour a saline solution up your nose into one sinus cavity and out the other? My allergist tried to get me to do those, but I kept gettin a nose bleed. :P

dadist---I know that it sounds repulsive,but my friend,in Conn,had
the "roto-router"operation & he said that it was one of the best things that he ever did.I worked with him at Sikorsky & he had
trouble with his sinuses there. He said that he had trouble with
them, all of his life! After the operation,he NEVER had trouble again! Irish

Thanks guys. I have heard from some people that I should go ahead and have the procedure done, but I'm only paid hourly as it is at the moment so whatever I miss is going to hurt.

if you really want the procedure, maybe you should find another doctor. too many antibiotics aren't good for you.
or maybe no amount of rootering will help, espescially if you have a majorly devaited septum (that requires surgery).
for a quick fix try my nana's cure.
a pot of steaming water with some kind of menthol disolved in it. ("tiger balm" is great and you can find it at most sporting goods stores. you only need to use a little. side note: it works great on headaches, too. just rub a dab into your temples.)
put your head over the pot, put a towel over your head and just breathe.
i hope you feel better soon!!

He's the doc who did my tonsillectomy, AND he said he came back from a conference just this spring where they were recommending the double antibiotic combo he last had me on, so I know he's up with this stuff. There is deviation in the septum towards the right, but to what degree (i.e. what constitutes minor/major) I couldn't tell you. It's pretty obvious in the CT scans though.
