New Job
I just started a new job !!!!! I'm working for the NYC BD of ED.
as a reading teacher in a local elementary school.
Last year I was in a Junior high school and had a terrible year.
This new job is just what I was looking for. Teaching reading in
small groups to children who are behind. It's 10 minutes from
home !!!!!! Can't wait for the kids to start.
I won't actually start teaching reading until Oct. It'll take the
month of Sept. to get the kids in a setttled and to see who needs
help and who doesn't.......I'm so excited !!!!!!

Congratulations! It must be very rewarding knowing you are making a positive difference in the lives of children. In the end, that's the greatest thing that any of us can do. Applause from the wolfman PW!

Re: New Job
Willow
You have my admiration.
Teacher training (back in the dark ages of the early 70's)
told me that I'd either be a heart attack candidate at 40
or I'd do time for throttling one of the little shits.
Go for it!

Thanks
I do have some hands on training. I have two kids of my own.
Matthew is 10 and Christian is 6, and believe me, sometimes
going to work is easier that contending the them. And they
are really good kids...........
And that's their mommy's totally unbiased opinion.
I'm really excited about starting, I should get my students
in Oct. I'm a reading teacher and so have to weed out the ones
that need help the most.
Thanks for all the good wishes, I feel like you all are like
a second family. You are soooooooo supportive of everyone.
Thanks again.
