Ex Sues To Get Back $67K Engagement Ring
(SF)
Woman Hasn't Delivered On Promise To Return
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- A Palm Beach County man is suing his ex-fiancée for keeping a $67,000 diamond ring after their engagement was called off, according to court documents.
West Palm Beach television station WPBF reported Robert Mannino filed a lawsuit with the Palm Beach County Circuit Court, saying that Elfriede Welch, his former fiancée of two months, agreed to return the ring but has not done so.
According to court documents, Welch and Mannino began dating in March and were engaged in April.
Mannino said the Palm Beach couple called off the engagement in July and that Welch had promised to return the 4.91-carat diamond ring.
The lawsuit claims that Welch has "wrongfully detained" the ring because she wants to keep it.
Phone calls placed to both parties by WPBF were not returned.

I need more details on this one. The story says "the couple" called off the engagement. But it's rare to simultaneously terminate an engagement.
I need to know the detailed circumstances!

They dated a month, and he bought her a $67,000 ring??????
There is obviously too much money floating around West Palm Beach, and I think some of it needs to be redistributed elsewhere.

He bought her a ring.
It was not conditioned (apparently) on the wedding proceeding.
Where's the problem?
