When we first met you could do no wrong
In my eyes the perfect man had a shot at my heart
Ambitious while at the same time caring
You had it all plus you were extremely smart

Making me smile was your passion
You had a gift for brightening up my day
Giving flowers when I needed them most
While insisting on every date that you pay

The perfect gentleman all around
Handsome, well groomed, and well spoken
Every reason to let my guard down
Never imagined my heart would get broken

The signs were there all along
But I was looking with my heart instead of my eyes
Never once invited me over to your place
When questioned why you'd always act surprised

"Just wait until I clean up a bit"
