Breathing a SIGH of relief!!!!!
I first want to say good luck girl living up north, although just look at all the new things your get to see and experience. Just know that they are gonna want you to talk so they can hear your southernness...and then laugh but it goes both ways. When I met a certain person from the North I just couldn't get my mind around some of his words...I had to think a min. And dont get me started on folks from CA. They just need to slow down a bit. Was tryin to confirm on a "wanted person" and we kept having to repeat ourselves. It was horrible. No offense to yall CA people but I thought most of yall talked with the surfer thing goin on. Boy was I wrong.
Any way Good Luck to ya!!!!
On another note: we are breathing a sigh of relief because we just found out that only 5 kids out of my brothers platoon got to stay state side. All the rest have gone to IRAQ. (God be with them.) But my brother and the other 4 got to go to Camp Pendleton in San Deigo.
Go Marines !!! Air Force!!! Navy!!! Army!!! Coast Gaurd!!!

You've never been north nikki?
I think you'll like it! I've been told by some that we have trees that resemble broccoli...LOL! The wildlife is different, the trees and flowers are different, the weather changes are a bit getting used to but I'd miss the changes if I were gone. Yeah...I think you'll like it a lot!
PM me with any questions hun. I'm just a state away from Deleware. Matter of fact, my big sis lives right near Dover AFB.

It was only the service that tool me to live below I-90 (if it had been there LOL), but I know you’ll be more welcome up here than I was down there. The world and certainly the country has become a lot more homogeneous, so you will have little trouble and a lot of fun.
How long is your assignment for?
I know you’ll find a lot on interesting and nice things up this way, besides a good cluster of Pixies, after you get through your first winter. It’s all fun and exploration after you know its’ face.

I've never been to Delaware - it's really more of a speck on the map - but I adore Pennsylvania. PA is absolutely beautiful and there are so many things to do and see. From Delaware you have so many things within easy travel distance if you want to hop a train and head to DC or NYC you can with ease. At anyrate, it's closer to "home" for you and you can drive there if you so desire rather than having to get on a plane.

I remember well the days of getting orders (FIGMO)! The anticipation of the move, the uncertainty of the new base, and most of all the feeling of relief finally leaving the place I was at. The two best assignments in the Air Force are the one you just left and the one you are going to! It's never the one you are at......
I never was stationed in that part of the world but tried to get there many times. Dover has a very special mission and you should be proud of being stationed there.
Congrats and welcome back to the world!
