Ladies: Question about Orgasm
I've wondered whether to post this for a while, thinking it a bit personal...but you all are family, so here goes.
Over the past 12 months or so, I've been intermittently experiencing a very different sensation during orgasm...and I want to know if this is "normal."
I'll be fine during the build-up, but when the O actually happens, there is a "pinching" feeling, sometimes varying in intensity, in my uterus. It lasts throughout the orgasm. I still have all the good feelings associated with the orgasm, but this "pinching" -- which sometimes feels stronger than others and can occasionally be somewhat painful -- overlies the good stuff.
This happens about a third to a half of the time I orgasm. Often I'll have this feeling straight for a week, and then it will leave for a few days, only to come back. No correlation with "that time of the month" that I can see, as I just had it last night and I was in day 11 of my cycle.
When the orgasm is over, the pinching stops and everything is back to normal. The feeling ONLY occurs during the actual orgasm...which is kind of annoying. It's like a bad ending to a very good movie.
So...what do you think, ladies? Is this normal, or unusual? Should I see the doc immediately? Mention it at my next annual?
Thanks for any advice...I've been puzzled. This has been occuring for about 6 months, and I am a bit worried....

Make a call to your Dr. It could just be the ligaments attached to your uterus. How long have you been off your RA meds?

not quite 4 months, but I've been weaning myself off for about 2 years.
Interesting (and much less alarming) thought that it might be ligaments. Maybe I need to exercise my uterus more! Thanks for the advice, Lil.
(damn, something else to exercise)

does it matter if you are having intercourse or if masturbating?

Pregnancy?
I'm more likely to notice while masturbating, but it has happened during sex. <sigh> What a mood killer!
Thanks for the advice, ladies. I'm never sure when I'm being an hypochondriac and when I should honestly worry.

If something that should feel good causes pain (and not the purposeful kind), it's time to seek a professional.
I had some odd painful orgasms early in my marriage. I actually had to go to the emergency room once. They just suggested I take a motrin or two beforehand.

I've been getting cramps right after orgasm (from oral w/ vaginal +anal fingering), it goes away after a few minutes. Although, I've also been getting cramps and sometimes a backache even when I'm not doing anything sexual. I'm on the nuvaring, and I don't get periods because of it. The doctor has me use it specifically so that I don't menstruate, because I get very painful cramps. I'm not as worried about the cramps and backache every once in a while, as my doctor thought that could just mean I need to have a period. I looked up endometrios, and thought maybe that could be the problem? I also had an abnormal pap nearly a year ago. I went back and had a different type of pap smear done (they said this one screened for more abnormalities) and it came back normal, so no biopsy was done, but I'm still a bit worried.

I was noting the link with nuvaring too. I wonder if that has anything to do with it?

I didn't see in Osuche's post that she uses the nuvaring I had asked my doctor to put me back on the depo provera, but she was hesitant because I had been on it for a few years and there are problems with osteoporosis, etc with it. There is also the weight gain, I gained 50 lbs the last time I went on it. If you look at some of my older pictures under MagicalMarge, that's how I looked before the depo. I posted new ones under Magalicious. I didn't have any of these problems with the depo though, I never had periods (I've had 2 while I have been on the nuvaring). I didn't have cramps or backaches like pms, and I didn't have cramping after orgasms. So maybe it is the nuvaring. My doctor wanted me to get the mirena (sp?). She said they have been using it in people who have not had children yet. I wonder if that would be any better. I think I would get a period with that though, so that wouldn't help with my cramps.

Guilty as charged on the NuvaRing. OK...I will go in and ask my Gyn about it.....but I *do* take periods on my NuvaRing (standard ones, monthly) rather than go without. To me it seems like a better idea to go with natures plan (the 28 day cycle). But then again, I've always had easy periods so the choice is simple for me.
If NuvaRing is the culprit I will die! I absolutely love my NuvaRing and wouldn't go back to the pill for the world. Thanks, I'll take some painful orgasms instead....

My cramps can be pretty bad, pamprin or tylenol don't help either. Usually I just have to lie down and use a heating pad. Doctors say there it's not harmful to not menstruate. I would like to be back on depo, but the doc doesn't want me on it. My nuvaring doesn't always stay put like it should. I guess I'm smaller, and it kinda doesn't go as far up as it should. So, I have to push it back in a lot, otherwise it starts falling out. The doctor said she noticed that when she first put it in me, and she said my vagina is just shorter.
