The last time I tried I won tickets to a show. I haven't been listening to the radio as much lately & have entered 'net contests but so far have only won a t-shirt and big prizes like $5.

I have I have!!!! I won $107 on one station, dinner from another station, and a CD from another station--then became friends with a DJ and got tshirts and CDs from him. Yep, I guess that makes me a whore

I've won lots of stuff for years on radio stations - not much lately - last big thing was McCartney tix a couple years ago - tend not to listen to the radio as much anymore

No luck here ... but then I usually only listen to radio when I'm driving around locally ... and then it's less than half the time.

While I luuuuurv Mr. Lil he would much rather win tix to something than to spend the cash on it, (could be read as cheap ). So he makes it his mission to win tix to most of the broadway plays that come to town and to any concerts in our region. I reap the benefits of his finger dexterity in more than one way

The boyfriend loves the Stones & since I'm home working on a research project (I'm at the stage where I'd rather poke my eyes out then finish it), I figured I'd try to win a CD (you call in when you hear a new song). I won first try & I said to the host, "My boyfriend's going to love me!"
He sez, "He doesn't love you already? He's going to love you because you won a CD? It's called 'A Bigger Bang'. Could you have that in store for you all because of a free CD?"
You can hear me squeaking in the background, "Oh my God!"
I was pretty shocked that he went that far. Too funny!

OMG Steph! ROFLMFAO!
Here's my past experiences...
I was twelve...won tix to my very first concert...Spectrum, Philly..."dance concert" (no seating arrangement...first come, grab a fuckin seat or part of the floor)...Headliner's-The Guess Who...first up-an all girl group called Fanny (we're talkin 1970ish)...next in line before main band-Jose' Feliciano
^^^Blew my mind and I am still in love with The Guess Who to this day!
Another time (more recently...1997) I tried to win tix to Cabo San Lucas. I had to make a tape of me (and my band, if I had one) singing an original version of an old song with the name of the D.J. in it and how bad I wanted to go to Cabo. I did an acappella version of Janis Joplin's "Mercedes Benz"...
"Oh John (John DeBebella...the D.J.) won't you send me to Cabo San Lucas. The weather in Pa. is causing lots of mucous (HEY...You rhyme that?????...and it was winter!)...it goes on, but I'll spare you all...lmfao!
Anyway...they played tons of entries and someone called and complained that they seemed to be playing more men than women and that they all seemed professional. Well...on my B-day in 1997...on the radio for all my friends and family to hear...they played my tape and I was working and listening and took my headphones off and shoved them on a girl working next to me and asked her who she thought that was. She was stunned...couldn't guess. I said it was me and to this day she swears I was lying. The voice was good...you smoke...it couldn't have been you. I sang it for her personally...she still thought I was full o shit. Hmmmmmmmmm!
NOPE! I didn't win...but I was on the radio, on my B-day...and the chick next to me at work and I were the only peeps I know that heard me! FUCK!!!!!!!!
OK...I'm done!
