It's Hockey season!!!
And the hometown team here (Washington Capitals) opened their season with a 6-1 win over the NY Islanders.
Screw the pundits. Who do you want to see take the Cup this season?

I would love to see the Leafs win just because I'm in their town.

Hockey has a dark cloud hanging over the start of the season with the Dany Heatley/Dan Snyder accident. As a former season ticket holder and being that Heatley was a former member of my alma mater's team, the situation has hit hard with me.
I was glad to see the Thrashers won their season opener. Personally with the adversity they face now with one player dead and another out with injury and facing manslaughter charges, I would like to see them overcome those obstacles.

Anyone that knows me knows I'm a dyed-in-the-wool, die hard fan of the DETROIT RED WINGS !!!!
So, that's who I'm rooting for to win the Stanley Cup this year.
There have been a lot of changes on the team since last season. They've lost a few key members, but still managed to pull out a win last night with mere seconds left in the game. Winning goal scored by the one and only Steve Yzerman!!!!!!

Okay... my apologizes in advance...
BUT...
Hockey isn't a preferred sport in my house... and thankfully it doesn't look like my son is interested... after watching ONCE AGAIN that another player's neck was broken because of on the ice violence.. it isn't the kind of sport that I feel children should watch...
