Polls?
I'm curious.My wife & I,have heard many things that are supposedly,decided by a poll.Ex:80% say yes,20% say no!
I thought of this recently, when I made some purchases at GNC.
I have been a Gold Card member for yrs.If you are a Gold Card
member,on the first few days of each month, you get 20% off,of the purchace price. If it's a certain brand, you also get the 2cd one,
for 1/2 price.Recently, the salesclerk told me that you now have a different card.No more 1/2 price. Now things are 10% off,all of the time. She said that this was decided by polling the members. My wife,I,none of my kids,or friends have never been asked anything,
in ANY poll.It makes me wonder who is asked in these polls?I was
wondering,if any of you have ever been asked your opinion? The
GNC example was just one thing.I have also heard of political,
NRA,sexual, etc.,polls and know of no-one who have been polled.

Irish,
Yesterday evening a nice young lady called and asked if I was in favor of keeping the incumbent mayor, and also asked me to select from a list of 4 which social issue I thought was the most important.

Around election times I have been the part of a few polls and called likely voters. We went right off polling lists, so I know they really call people. I have also been part of Nielson twice for TV, something before that I wasnt convinced was real.

There is a very funny episode of a Brit comedy "Yes Minister" where
a character argued that polls were conclusive.
Another character then asked him two sets of questions on whether there
should be a return to National Service.
Different questions led to different conclusions. It's called "Push Polling"
and has been used here as a political weapon.

This year I've been helping the Office of National Statistics which means they've been asking me questions every three months about my lifestyle so that they can build up a picture of 'the average' person in the uk.
I have to say that being a 25 year old single woman who owns a car and a house and doesn't earn enough to run either of them, does not make me anywhere near average. I think I'm really going to screw up their numbers! Lol

What a great country this would be if the average woman was like Lou

Now that a few people, have mentioned it.I have been called at
election time.I wouldn't call it a poll.I would call it,sticking their
nose,in my business. They called and asked who I was voting for.
I told them, that it was none of their business, that's one of the
reasons,that voting booths,had doors on them!Am I subtle?NO!
But my business,is MY business! Irish
