I got a Nor' Easter!!!!!!!
The roads were sooooooooooo bad! But the view and the peacefulness after the storm.........well, it truly made for a wonderful Christmas!
And BTW.........it hasn't been a white Christmas around these parts for over 33 years! We've had snow a week before and a couple days after in past times........but this was a Christmas Eve to all day Christmas Day storm!
Just a couple of glimpses of the effect of a White Christmas!

These pics were taken as the storm was bulking up.
It got much worse before the calm came..........around 10:30pm. We were on the road to "Dad's" house just after this pic was taken. Talk about a mystery tour!!!!!! The best way I can explain the driving conditions is.........Have you ever watched Star Trek as they show a view through the front portal of the ship as they go to warp speed? All the stars passing by in a blur! That's what it was like driving to dad's house......only we were going in slow motion!
Oh.....and in keeping with the original thought of this thread......I had a really wonderful day. I got a new winter coat, a silver charm bracelet, some clogs (because I am a left-over hippie) and of course the "traditional" case of motor oil (inside joke between me and hubby) from hubby himself. Also.....from friends and family.....A George Foreman thingy (for cooking....LOL!), a toaster oven........(OMG, I see a theme growing here!) a ceramic chocolate lab (as I can't have the real thing till my cat says it's ok!), some handpainted glass candle holders, and lots and lots of hugs and kisses (my favorite gifts of all!!!)
So, this is just another view of the winter storm that came for Christmas!
Happy Holidays everyone!

Ok, I got an Allman Bros. CD, Home Depot gift card, Tower Records gift card, some clothes including new boxers, (and if you ladies ask real nicely I might model them here, if I ever get the time)
But this was something wife got to go in one of her flower gardens that caught my eye...got some snickers out of the young boys present, but I was thinking...does this remind you of anyone we know?

Ummm...lets see...some books, CDs, wine, chocolate, wall calendar, cookbook holder, a small painting (painted by my aunt), plus a few glass items (blue bowl, candle holder, snowman, champagne glasses).
And with fresh coat of snow it was quite a lovely Christmas Eve.

Well, my big present was a turntable/CD/cassette player combined into an "old style" cabinet. Wonderful!
By the way, Lixy, those pictures are beautiful. Love the one of the barn we saw you painting in an earlier post. Truly peaceful. TY for sharing those.
